Monday's game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys was one between two teams on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, but the AFC representative at least earned some late-season momentum with a 27-20 victory.
Cincinnati improved to 5-8 with the win and is still three games behind the Denver Broncos for the final AFC wild-card spot.
As for Dallas, its brief two-game winning streak came to an end as it dropped three games behind the Washington Commanders for the final NFC wild-card spot.
While the Bengals and Cowboys are on the outside of the postseason picture, other teams further solidified their spot in the standings. Here is a look at where every team stands following Week 14.
AFC Standings
Division Leaders
1. Kansas City Chiefs (12-1)
2. Buffalo Bills (10-3)
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3)

With a hat tip to Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams, the Kansas City Chiefs moved closer to clinching the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC on Sunday.
Los Angeles defeated the Buffalo Bills 44-42 in arguably the game of the weekend, while the Chiefs escaped a challenge from the Los Angeles Chargers when Matthew Wright's game-winning field goal hit off the post and bounced through the uprights as time expired.
As a result, Patrick Mahomes and Co. moved a full two games ahead of the Bills, which is key since Buffalo has the tiebreaker with a head-to-head win.
But Kansas City hasn't clinched anything yet, as it still faces teams in playoff position down the stretch in the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos in the final four games.
The game at Pittsburgh stands out, as the Steelers are also two games back of the No. 1 seed and would have the chance to seize a tiebreaker with a head-to-head win.
Yet the Steelers have to face a daunting final four games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Chiefs and Bengals, so it is difficult to envision them making up that ground even if they figure out a way to defeat the two-time reigning Super Bowl champions.
The bottom line is Kansas City will likely have home-field advantage as it chases a third straight Lombardi Trophy. It continues finding ways to win even in close contests, and Sunday's field goal that just went through was the latest example.
NFC Standings
Division Leaders

2. Philadelphia Eagles (11-2)
3. Seattle Seahawks (8-5)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-6)
Wild-Card Race
5. Minnesota Vikings (11-2)
6. Green Bay Packers (9-4)
7. Washington Commanders (8-5)
8. Los Angeles Rams (7-6)
9. Atlanta Falcons (6-7)
10. Arizona Cardinals (6-7)
11. San Francisco 49ers (6-7)
12. New Orleans Saints (5-8)
13. Dallas Cowboys (5-8)
14. Chicago Bears (4-9)
15. Carolina Panthers (3-10)
16. New York Giants (2-11)
While the race for the AFC No. 1 seed is fairly decided at this point, the race for the No. 1 seed in the NFC is still very much up for grabs.
The Detroit Lions continue to cruise and picked up another critical win during Thursday's divisional showdown against the Green Bay Packers. However, they haven't been able to create more than one game of separation from the Philadelphia Eagles or Minnesota Vikings because they continue to roll as well.
Philadelphia has won nine in a row, although it needed a late turnover on downs to escape a challenge from the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. As for the Vikings, they have won six in a row and looked dominant for extended stretches of Sunday's 42-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Detroit at least has a head-to-head win over the Vikings to fall back on, but the two NFC North rivals face each other in the final game of the regular season.
With just a one-game lead and two red-hot teams chasing them, the Lions may have to win out to guarantee they finish with the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The first-round bye that would also come with the top seed would also prove useful, as some of the NFC's top contenders will be eliminated in the Wild Card Round with so many strong teams vying for playoff positioning.
Elsewhere, the Rams are still a factor in the wild-card and NFC West races after their dramatic victory over the Bills with a Week 18 clash against the division-leading Seattle Seahawks looming.
Stafford would be a dangerous opponent for anyone he faced in the postseason, so Los Angeles' finish will be one to watch.
