Whether you're the manager of a playoff team or a squad in the toilet-bowl bracket, always stay one step ahead in your roster assessments.
It's best to move on from a player one year too early than a year too late.
Even if they continue to play at a high level for another season or two, you can move on without much regret if you received enough value for them in a deal, which is the focus of this week's fantasy trade market.
Which star veterans should already be on your trade block? What could you get in return for them?
We'll highlight three players to trade before their stocks plummet in the offseason.
In addition to that, our buy-now and hold player stocks will help managers in the long term and for the playoffs.
Buy These Players Now
Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints
Week 14: 10 carries, 32 yards, 1 TD
2024 Season: 19 carries, 84 yards, 1 TD; 2 catches, 1 yard
Don't wait until Miller fully breaks out to buy his stock. Last weekend, the Saints activated him off injured reserve, and he immediately saw action as the No. 2 running back behind Alvin Kamara.
Because of Kamara's heavy involvement in the short passing game, Miller could get 10 or more carries per contest as he did last Sunday.
The 22-year-old has an upcoming matchup against the Washington Commanders' 27th-ranked run defense, so he's a quality pickup for playoff teams. He is also a decent stash for next season because of the potential growth in his role.
Buy Miller for: Tyler Allgeier, Jaylen Warren, Jerome Ford
Jalen McMillan, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 14: 4 catches, 59 yards, 2 TDs
2024 Season: 17 catches, 204 yards, 3 TDs; 2 carries, 28 yards
In Week 14, McMillan had his most productive pro showing, hauling in four of his seven targets for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Regarding target share, the 23-year-old may benefit most from Chris Godwin's absence down the stretch. Tampa Bay selected him in the third round of this year's draft, and he could be the team's No. 2 wide receiver in 2025 if Godwin signs elsewhere in free agency.
As for now, managers should invest in the rookie wideout who may become a key cog in the team's top-six passing offense down the stretch.
Buy McMillan for: Keenan Allen, Tim Patrick, Rashod Bateman
Daniel Bellinger, TE, New York Giants
Week 14: 5 catches, 45 yards
2024 Season: 8 catches, 76 yards
Though it's risky to consider any investment in the New York Giants offense, head coach Brian Daboll has shown he's willing to feature Bellinger as a pass-catcher.
The 24-year-old had a solid Week 14 outing that may not be an aberration.
As a 2022 fourth-round rookie, Bellinger averaged about three targets per game. Unfortunately for him, an eye injury derailed his momentum in the middle of that year. He caught four passes in Weeks 16 and 17 last year, with Tommy DeVito and Tyrod Taylor splitting work under center.
Now, with Drew Lock at quarterback, the San Diego State product has reemerged while rookie fourth-round tight end Theo Johnson is on injured reserve.
As long as Daboll has his fingerprints on the Giants' offense, Bellinger will hold on to a solid role in the passing attack while in a starting position.
If you need playoff help at tight end, he could help you win matchups.
Buy Bellinger for: Noah Fant, Dawson Knox, Chigoziem Okonkwo
Sell These Players
Aaron Jones Sr., RB, Minnesota Vikings
Week 14: 197 carries, 893 yards, 4 TDs; 37 catches, 302 yards, 2 TDs; 3 fumbles lost
2024 Season: 13 carries, 73 yards, TD; 2 catches, 11 yards
We warned you about Jones two weeks ago. Here's a reminder to dump him before his stock goes into the tank next year.
Entering Week 15, he is tied for second in fumbles (five) among running backs. In the NFL, 30-year-old tailbacks with ball-security issues have limited markets when they hit free agency. Barring an extension offer from Minnesota, he will test the market in 2025.
Jones may not be a featured running back beyond 2024, wherever he signs in the offseason. Over the past few weeks, the Vikings have allowed Cam Akers to eat into his workload with a handful of carries.
Sell Jones for: D'Andre Swift, Rachaad White, Najee Harris
Davante Adams, WR, New York Jets
Week 14: 9 catches, 109 yards, 1 TD
2024 Season: 58 catches, 662 yards, 4 TDs
In Week 14, Adams logged his first 100-plus-yard receiving performance since Week 2. Managers should do their best to trade him for the best offer right now.
Since 2022, his drop rate has increased. While his current deal gives him some leverage, his future is uncertain because of his connection with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Adams may be able to pick his spot in 2025, but that's not appealing for fantasy managers when you consider his age (33) by the end of next year's campaign. Sell his stock for a younger wideout with more upside.
Sell Adams for: Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, Jaylen Waddle
DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Week 14: 4 catches, 32 yards, 1 TD
2024 Season: 45 catches, 530 yards, 5 TDs
Hopkins will be a key contributor in the Chiefs' playoff run this year, but beyond the 2024 term, he could wander around the league again.
Turning 33 next offseason, Hopkins will be a free agent. Even if he stays in Kansas City, the star veteran receiver may not have a prominent role with Rashee Rice (knee) back in action and Xavier Worthy gaining more experience in his second season.
Hopkins hasn't recorded a 100-plus-yard performance since Week 14 of the 2023 campaign. He's caught touchdown passes in two of the last three weeks, though. It's a good time to move him before his stock value drops in the offseason.
Sell Hopkins for: Keon Coleman, Christian Watson, Xavier Legette
Hold These Players for Another Week
Patrick Taylor Jr., RB, San Francisco 49ers
Week 14: 7 carries, 25 yards, 1 TD
2024 Season: 14 carries, 50 yards, 1 TD; 1 catch, 12 yards
On a short week, the 49ers may be down to their fourth-string running back.
Isaac Guerendo exited the 49ers' previous game with a foot injury, but his X-rays came back inconclusive. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters the rookie running back may have suffered a foot sprain.
Taylor led San Francisco's ground attack in the fourth quarter of a blowout win over the Chicago Bears.
Because the 49ers have a quick turnaround for a crucial Week 15 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, they may give Guerendo a light workload if he experiences discomfort in his foot. Managers should hold on to Taylor in case San Francisco is cautious or conservative with its lead ball-carrier.
Jaylen Wright, RB, Miami Dolphins
Week 14: 2 carries, 7 yards; 2 catches, 6 yards
2024 Season: 61 carries, 250 yards; 3 catches, 8 yards
Last week, running back Raheem Mostert (hip) missed his fourth game of the season. He sat out three consecutive outings between Weeks 2 and 4. At 32, his injuries may linger, so managers should keep Wright on their roster for the remainder of the season.
As a rookie, the 21-year-old has shown flashes. In Week 5, with De'Von Achane and Mostert active, he recorded 13 carries for 86 yards.
If Mostert misses more time, Wright can show more promise in a two-man backfield.
Stone Smartt, TE, Los Angeles Chargers
Week 14: 3 catches, 54 yards
2024 Season: 6 catches, 98 yards
In the Chargers' previous game with the Kansas City Chiefs, Will Dissly suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the first half and didn't return. Smartt became the team's primary pass-catching tight end.
In Week 15, Los Angeles will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends entering Week 14. If Dissly is out, Smartt could have another solid outing, especially if wide receiver Ladd McConkey misses consecutive outings with shoulder and knee injuries.
Keep Smartt on your roster or at least on your radar until the team provides an update on Dissly.
