WWE Playing It By Ear with The Rock's WrestleMania 41 Status

There is reportedly not yet a concrete answer regarding the question of whether The Rock will be part of the WrestleMania 41 card.

According to PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE is taking a "wait-and-see" approach with The Rock, and the creative team is preparing plans in case The Rock cannot commit to WrestleMania.

PWInsider added that if The Rock decides he wants to do something at WrestleMania, then it will happen, which suggests the creative forces within the company are ready to pivot if need be.

The latest report comes after Chris Featherstone of SportsKeeda reported this week that WWE has "decided to move forward in creative plans as if The Rock will not appear" at WrestleMania, and Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp called the report "correct."

Featherstone added the qualifier that plans could "change at any moment" if The Rock decides he wants to have a WrestleMania match.

Back in October, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Carrier) reported that The Rock "gave word" to WWE that he would not be able to take part in WrestleMania.

However, The Rock later responded to question on Instagram about the report, writing, "Don't believe any of that bulls--t."

The Rock turned heel on the road to WrestleMania 40 earlier this year and went on to team with Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 1 against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

The Final Boss later said he would be coming for Rhodes and the WWE Championship, and he made a surprise appearance at Bad Blood in October after Reigns and Rhodes beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

While The Rock's involvement with WrestleMania 41 remains very much in question, the fact that WWE had him do something with Rhodes and Reigns at Bad Blood suggests that options are being kept open.

Details on Original Plans for New Day Heel Turn

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods shockingly turned heel on Big E during Monday night's episode of Raw, but WWE reportedly planned to do the turn differently at first.

According to Meltzer (h/t WrestleTalk), WWE originally intended on Odyssey Jones' involvement with New Day to lead to Kingston and Woods choosing him over Big E.

Back in August, Kingston enlisted the help of Jones during New Day's feud with the Final Testament. Tension was teased between Kofi and Woods as a result of the move, but Jones then disappeared from WWE programming in September.

Jones was also removed from the WWE roster on WWE.com, and Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported that it occurred after "domestic violence allegations came to light."

With Jones no longer in the equation, WWE had to take a different route, which led to New Day's 10th anniversary celebration on Raw.

Kingston and Woods had been at odds in the weeks leading up to it, and they were seemingly about to announce their breakup when Big E appeared.

Big E, who has been out of action since March 2022 after fracturing two vertebrae in his neck, offered to manage Kofi and Woods in order to help them win back the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Instead, Kingston and Woods turned their backs on Big E, blaming his absence for their issues.

After a dejected Big E left the ring, Kingston and Woods showed solidarity, and the expectation is that they will be a heel tag team moving forward.

Raw to Reportedly Stream Live on Netflix Regardless of Location

Once Raw moves from USA Network to Netflix in January, WWE will reportedly change the way it has traditionally handled episodes of Raw held overseas.

According to PWInsider.com (h/t Wrestle Ops), all episodes of Raw will stream live on Netflix regardless of which time zone they are being held in.

Over the years, when Raw has emanated from various European countries, the episodes have still aired in their usual 8 p.m. ET time slot in the United States on tape delay.

Since Netflix does not have to adhere to the same restrictions as a cable network like USA, it has the ability to stream Raw as it happens no matter what.

PWInsider added that Netflix's plan is for Raw to stream live every Monday, and for the episode to be available on demand as soon as possible after the show ends.

The first episode of the Raw on Netflix era is set for Jan. 6, and it will take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

WWE is hyping up the episode in a major way, meaning it could come across as more of a premium live event that a typical Raw.

That episode will also take place less than a month before the Royal Rumble, meaning some massive storyline happenings could play out.
