Jameson Williams Shades Jayden Reed After Packers WR Has 0 Catches in Loss to Lions

Jameson Williams had fun at Jayden Reed's expense after the Green Bay Packers wide receiver was shut out in a 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.

Williams commented on an Instagram post asking if Reed made it to Detroit after he went without a catch and had just one target.

This is a callback to earlier this year when Reed appeared on Amon-Ra St. Brown's podcast and vowed to do a dance in Detroit for the Packers' visit to Ford Field.

Despite putting up 31 points, there weren't a lot of offensive standouts for the Packers. They had just 298 yards of total offense, with Christian Watson the only pass-catcher who had more than 50 receiving yards (114 on four receptions).

Reed's performance against the Lions is part of a more concerning trend for Green Bay. The 24-year-old has just 73 yards on eight catches in four games since Week 11. He still leads the team in receiving yards (693), but his usage is very unusual for a No. 1 option.

The second-year wideout set season-lows in total offensive snaps (25) and percentage of offensive snaps played (50 percent).

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur pushed back on the notion that the team needed a defined No. 1 receiver when asked about it during the preseason.

While the formula of quantity has served the Packers well overall this season, there is a reason that many of the top offenses in the NFL have a go-to guy in key situations.

Reed is the closest thing the Packers have to that, but his performance in the biggest game of the year for the team so far was very concerning when you look ahead to the teams they could meet in the playoffs.
