The top prospect in the Class of 2025 is down to just four schools.
AJ Dybantsa, a 5-star prospect from Brockton, Massachusetts, has narrowed his list down to Alabama, North Carolina, Kansas and BYU.
Dybantsa, who is currently playing high school basketball at Utah Prep in Hurricane, Utah, is considered to be the No. 1 player in the country by 247Sports Composite. Along with the schools mentioned, he holds offers from Kansas State, Auburn, UConn, Duke and more.
He has taken official visits to all of the schools in his top four, his most recent visit coming on Oct. 11 to BYU. According to On3's Joe Tipton, Dybantsa plans to make his commitment later this month.
Dybantsa has plenty of good options in his top four. Committing to North Carolina or Kansas would give him the chance to play for a well-respected blue blood that will get plenty of national attention. Joining the Crimson Tide would allow him the opportunity to play for one of the fastest-rising programs in the nation.
While BYU doesn't have the basketball prestige of some of the other schools on his list, he would get to stay local to where he has been playing over the last few years.
Wherever he decides to go, Dybantsa would likely spend just one year there before departing for the NBA draft. According to On3's Jamie Shaw, NBA scouts are already high on Dybantsa. One scout said in June that he would be the No. 1 player in the 2024 draft, the 2025 and the 2026 draft.
That kind of evaluation is a good sign of what's to come and whatever school lands Dybantsa is going to be ecstatic.
