WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Leveque made an announcement during the media event at Netflix HQ that will surely excite fans.
Triple H revealed that beloved commentator Pat McAfee will be returning to WWE on a full-time basis when Monday Night Raw moves to Netflix in January.
"Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now. Pat's actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night Raw," Triple H said.
Raw is set to debut on Netflix on Jan. 6. It's not yet clear whether McAfee will be present for the debut episode, as he took a hiatus from WWE at the start of the 2024 college football season to commit to his duties as an analyst for ESPN. The College Football Playoff national championship will be played on Jan. 20, so there's a chance he won't return to WWE until after that.
McAfee brought a new energy to the commentary table since becoming a color commentator in 2021. His partnership with legendary play-by-play announcer Michael Cole was well-received by fans, and now the two of them will team up again on Raw next year.
WWE moving its flagship show to Netflix signifies a major shift into a new era for the company. It can be expected that more exciting news is in store as the sports entertainment giant gears up for Raw's debut episode on the streaming platform.
