This is it, Week 14. In most fantasy football leagues, when this week wraps up, so will the regular season.
For some managers, that doesn't mean much. A fortunate few are coasting into the playoffs with a first-round bye already in the bag. Others have not been so lucky—when Week 14 ends, so will their season. There's nothing left but playing out the string.
However, many fantasy managers are playing for the highest of stakes in Week 14. For them, it's already effectively the postseason. Get one more win this week, and the season continues. Take an "L" in Week 14, and it's all over but the crying—nothing left to do but try to figure out where things went wrong.
And no, it wasn't reading this column this season. That's just mean.
Fantasy managers fighting for their playoff lives this week are under immense pressure. We're here to help alleviate some of that pressure with position-by-position PPR rankings, matchups to exploit and avoid, and a look at the top 100 overall players for Week 14.
Quarterbacks
There are six quarterbacks this season who are averaging over 20 fantasy points per game. Most are the usual suspects—signal-callers like Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. But there is one player that very few expected to be on that list 13 weeks into the season:
Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Mayfield's Week 13 numbers weren't great—235 passing yards, one touchdown pass and two interceptions. It was his third-worst fantasy output of the season. But the seventh-year veteran has eclipsed 300 passing yards four times this season. He has thrown at least three touchdown passes in a game five times. Mayfield and Tom Brady are the only two quarterbacks in Buccaneers history to throw 25 touchdown passes in back-to-back seasons.
And with a Las Vegas Raiders team up next that ranks inside the top 10 in fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks this season, Mayfield is a top-five fantasy option at his position in Week 14.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons (at MIN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,500]
Cousins hasn't been good of late—he hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since a three-score effort against the Dallas Cowboys on November 3. This week he plays his old team, though, and Minnesota ranks 28th in the league against the pass this season.
Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings (vs. ATL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,100]
Like Mayfield, Darnold has exceeded expectations and then some this season—he's eighth at the position in fantasy points through 13 weeks. The Falcons have been kind to opposing quarterbacks this season, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position.
BAD MATCHUPS
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers (at MIN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,200]
This isn't about Purdy's miserable outing last week against the Buffalo Bills—the weather played a large factor in that. But this week he draws a Bears team averaging less than 210 yards a game through the air and the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (vs. BUF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
Stafford isn't as productive a fantasy asset as he once was, but he can still post a fat score when the matchup is right. This week it is not—the Bills are eighth in the NFL against the pass and have surrendered the fewest fantasy points per game in the AFC to quarterbacks in 2024.
SLEEPER
Aidan O'Connell, Las Vegas Raiders (at TB) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800]
O'Connell is coming off the best game of his career—340 yards and two touchdowns in last week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now he takes on a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that ranks inside the top five in both passing yards allowed and fantasy points per game given up to quarterbacks.

Running Backs
It has been lost in the big seasons put up by players like Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens, but Kyren Williams of the Los Angeles Rams has quietly been solid for fantasy managers this season.
Through 13 weeks, Williams ranks ninth among fantasy running backs. He's done so without any huge weeks—Williams' 104 rushing yards last week on 15 carries was a season-high. But he has been consistent. Williams has failed to tally 10 PPR points just once this year, which is fewer times than Barkley.
Williams actually had his carries scaled back a bit last week, with Blake Corum getting his largest carryload of the season. But Williams told reporters that a reduced workload may actually have been addition by subtraction.
"It felt great. It felt like I was me, myself and I when I was out there playing like that," Williams said. "I was playing instinctive football and had great energy."
Williams hasn't been especially sexy, but he has gotten the job done. And with a top-five fantasy matchup for running backs on tap with Buffalo, he should continue to do so in Week 14.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,400]
Pollard was essentially a non-factor in last week's loss to the Washington Commanders—12 touches for 68 yards. But this week's game script should be more amenable to the run game—the Jags have given up over 130 rushing yards per game this year.
D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
Swift was held in check by a stout Detroit run defense on Thanksgiving. But he still managed almost 75 total yards, and this week Swift and the Bears travel to face a 49ers defense that was embarrassed on the ground by the Bills in the snow in Week 13.
BAD MATCHUPS
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. CLE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,000]
Harris had himself a day in Sunday's shootout win over the Cincinnati Bengals, turning 22 total touches into 129 yards and a score. But when Harris and the Steelers faced the Browns two weeks ago, the fourth-year veteran averaged just 2.6 yards per carry.
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers (at PHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,200]
Hubbard was quiet in last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, carrying the ball 12 times for 43 yards and losing a fumble in overtime. This week likely won't be any better—the Eagles are surrendering the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game in the league this year.
SLEEPER
Ameer Abdullah, Las Vegas Raiders (at Tampa Bay) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,700]
With Zamir White (quadriceps) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) both out last week, Abdullah was the lead back for the Raiders, turning 12 touches into 53 total yards. The Buccaneers have given up the ninth-most PPR points per game to running backs this season.

Wide Receivers
The Green Bay Packers may have the deepest assemblage of young receiving talent in the NFL. Christian Watson. Jayden Reed. Romeo Doubs. Dontayvion Wicks. All have considerable talent. None have hit the prime of their careers yet.
That depth at receiver is a great problem for the Packers. But it can make a steady target share for any one player hard to come by. Still, by virtue of Reed's 44 receptions for 693 yards and six touchdowns, Reed has managed to crack the top 10 in PPR points for the season.
In the opinion of Daire Carragher of Packer Report, Green Bay would be wise to get Reed even more involved in the offense.
"He's not the biggest, nor the fastest, but he possesses an innate ability to produce no matter what he's asked to do," Carragher said. "As much as I've scoured the databases, there is simply no statistic to chart how much dawg someone has in them. It's something that is solely up to the viewer's interpretation. When you watch the Packers offense, and when you watch Jayden Reed, you see someone who will, in the words of YouTuber Demetry James 14 years ago, 'put the team on his back'".
Thursday, the Packers play arguably their biggest game of 2024 in Detroit against the Lions. And for Green Bay to win, Reed is going to have to have a huge outing.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons (at MIN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,400]
London has been a top-10 fantasy receiver for the season, but he's also been inconsistent—just two games out of the last five with 15 PPR points. London is coming off nine catches for 86 yards against the Cardinals, and he could easily crack the 100-yard mark against Minnesota's leaky secondary.
Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
It has been an up-and-down 2024 season for Ridley, although that has as much to do with shaky quarterback play as Ridley himself. This week, the Titans host a Jacksonville Jaguars team that has surrendered the third-most PPR points per game to wide receivers this season.
BAD MATCHUPS
Davante Adams, New York Jets (at MIA) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,700]
Adams found the end zone for the second time as a member of the Jets last week, catching five passes for 61 yards and that score. But the 31-year-old isn't the elite fantasy option he once was, and the Dolphins are a highly unfavorable fantasy matchup for wide receivers.
Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins (vs. NYJ) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,400]
Waddle has come alive a bit of late, catching 12 passes for 197 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion over the last two games. But for all the things the Jets have done poorly in 2024, no team has given up fewer PPR points per game to wide receivers.
SLEEPER
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,700]
Listing a pair of wide receivers from one of the NFL's most punchless passing attacks may be a little, um, yeah. But hey, it's been a long year. Westbrook-Ikhine has posted double-digit PPR points in each of his last three games, including catching a pair of touchdown passes last week.
WEEK 14 WIDE RECEIVER RANKINGS

Tight Ends
Barring something unforeseen, it appears a rookie will be the No. 1 tight end in fantasy for the second straight season—Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders has opened up a sizable lead in PPR points at the position.
But while that may be a little surprising, the fact that Jonnu Smith of the Miami Dolphins ranks inside the top five is absolutely stunning. In fact, after a third straight 20-plus PPR point outing in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers, it's Smith who is fantasy's No. 1 tight end over the past month.
Smith's breakout has been more about circumstance than talent. Opposing defenses have dedicated themselves to taking away Miami's deep passing attack. With wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle drawing double teams with regularity, Smith has been open underneath constantly.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is taking what those defenses are giving him. Over that three-week rampage Smith has been on, he's averaging 10 targets a game.
Smith was a waiver add in most fantasy leagues—the sort of acquisition that wins championships.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills (at LAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,900]
With Dalton Kincaid sidelined by a knee injury, Knox has stepped back into the role of the No. 1 tight end for the Bills. Last week, that equated to a pair of catches for 56 yards, and the veteran draws a favorable fantasy matchup for his position with the Rams.
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. LV) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,400]
Otton ranks eighth for the season in PPR points at his position, although much of that damage was done while Mike Evans was sidelined by a hamstring injury. The Raiders have been kind to opposing tight ends, allowing the third-most PPR points per game to the position in 2024.
BAD MATCHUPS
Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars (at TEN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800]
Relative to last season, Engram's numbers are way down. The odds of a late-season resurgence aren't especially good with Mac Jones at quarterback, and the Titans have allowed the 10th-fewest PPR points per game to the tight end position in 2024.
Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,700]
There have been a couple of games this season where Kmet has received double-digit targets. But most weeks, he has been relegated to fantasy afterthought status, and a bottom-five fantasy matchup for tight ends with the 49ers this week won't help matters any.
SLEEPER
Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,000]
Okonkwo hasn't been a consistent part of the Tennessee offense—he has seen more than five targets all of once this season. But that one time happened to come last week in Washington, and the week before, the third-year pro had a 70-yard touchdown grab.
WEEK 14 TIGHT END RANKINGS
1. Brock Bowers, LV (at TB)
2. Travis Kelce, KC (vs. LAC)
3. Trey McBride, ARI (vs. SEA)

Kickers and Team Defenses
At the kicker position at least, it's something of a blessing that the Baltimore Ravens are one of six teams on a bye in Week 14.
It gives fantasy managers an excuse to move on from Justin Tucker.
Once the gold standard at his position, Tucker is suffering through a truly miserable season. Last week, he missed three kicks (two field goals, one extra point) in a game for the first time in his career. For the season, Tucker has missed a whopping eight field goal tries. Among kickers with at least 10 attempts, Tucker's 70.4 success percentage this year ranks outside the top 30 at his position.
While speaking to reporters, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the team has no plans to move on from Tucker.
"I don't think that's the answer, knowing I've talked to (special teams coach) Randy (Brown) and the scouts, knowing who's out there right now," Harbaugh said. "It's not to say there aren't guys capable, but there's nobody nearly as good as Justin Tucker out there."
In fantasy football, that's not the case—and there's no real reason to hold Tucker through the bye.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. CAR)
Elliott draws a favorable Week 14 matchup—the Panthers have surrendered the most fantasy points per game in the NFC to kickers this season. If there's a potential problem here, it's the Carolina defense not being able to keep Philly out of the end zone.
Pittsburgh Steelers Defense (vs. CLE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500]
The Steelers didn't have a great showing against the Browns a couple of weeks ago. But Cleveland remains among the league leaders in sacks allowed, and only two teams have given up more fantasy points per game to defenses this season.
BAD MATCHUPS
Younghoe Koo, Atlanta Falcons (at MIN)
Since Week 7, Koo barely ranks among the top 25 kickers in fantasy points, after ranking fourth over the first six weeks of the season. Now, Atlanta's struggling offense takes on a Vikings team giving up the fewest fantasy points per game to kickers in the NFC this season.
Los Angeles Rams Defense (vs. BUF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,500]
The Rams haven't been a bad fantasy defense, necessarily—the team ranks inside the top 15 in fantasy points for the season. But don't go anywhere near the team in Week 14, not against a Bills offense that is absolutely rolling right now.
SLEEPER
Jacksonville Jaguars Defense (at TEN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,600]
Not much has gone right for the Jaguars this season, and the Jacksonville defense has had its share of struggles. But the Titans lead the league in fantasy points per game surrendered to team defenses and have for much of the season.

Top 100 Players Overall/"Flex" Rankings
Before we get to the Top 100 players overall for PPR fantasy football leagues in Week 14 (a list that can aid fantasy managers in making "Flex" lineup calls), it's time for the weekly prattling and pontifications.
First, there are no quarterbacks included in this list. If your fantasy league includes a "Superflex" spot and you have a viable second quarterback, he should be in that spot. Of course, "viable" is a relative concept—especially in the second Byepocalypse of the season.
That's right. In this most important of fantasy weeks, the NFL (in its infinite wisdom) saw fit to schedule a six-team bye. The Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots and Washington Commanders are all on bye in Week 14.
That's a long list of big fantasy names sitting.
Finally, whether you're 11-2 and already have a Round 1 bye locked up or 2-11 and just waiting to be put out of your misery, play Week 14 the same way you did Week 2—all-out.
Anything less is a disservice to everyone else in your league, especially teams still fighting for the playoffs.
