Multiple Saturday upsets will define the College Football Rankings shifts in the second-to-last list of the season.
South Carolina beating Clemson, Michigan claiming victory over Ohio State and Syracuse defeating Miami will impact the fifth CFP rankings ahead of their Tuesday release.
Here's a projection as to what the next bracket might look like after an unpredictable Saturday of college football.
Updated CFB Playoff Projection
No. 1 Oregon (Big Ten Champion)
No. 2 Texas (SEC Champion)
No. 3 SMU (ACC Champion)
No. 4 Boise State (Best Group of 5 Champion)
No. 12 South Carolina vs. No. 5 Penn State
No. 11 Arizona State vs. No. 6 Notre Dame
No. 10 Indiana vs. No. 7 Georgia
No. 9 Ohio State vs. No. 8 Tennessee
Michigan got the best of Ryan Day and Ohio State in a fourth straight rivalry win over the Buckeyes.
Ohio State dropped out of the Big Ten championship game after the loss, allowing Penn State the chance to play for the conference title after defeating Maryland on Saturday evening. The Buckeyes will drop but remain on track to secure an at-large spot in the playoff.
The shocks continued as Syracuse rebounded from a 21-point deficit to hand Miami its second loss of the season.
The loss meant Miami will lose the opportunity to battle SMU in the ACC championship. Clemson will now snag the spot, and the Hurricanes are in danger of falling out of the playoff altogether thanks to the team's two unranked losses to Georgia Tech and Syracuse.
Saturday's loss to South Carolina, however, means that three-loss Clemson could miss out on a first-round bye even if the Tigers emerge victorious from the conference championship game. It also means that Clemson could be bounced from the playoff picture entirely should SMU claim the conference title.
Alabama meanwhile defeated Auburn, while South Carolina triumphed over Clemson, to continue the teams' bid for a playoff spot despite suffering three losses this season.
The Crimson Tide have three wins against ranked teams this season, while South Carolina has four. Meanwhile Miami did not play a Top 25 opponent this fall. That could be the difference in the selection committee's final at-large decision.
Notre Dame, which risked dropping out of the CFP bracket with a loss to USC, secured a road win over the Trojans that will keep the Fighting Irish in the playoff picture.
Arizona State defeated Arizona 49-7, then was lifted to the Big 12 title game thanks to a TCU victory over Cincinnati. A win could potentially make ASU the only Big 12 team to earn an at-large bid, with Boise State projected to beat out the power conference for the top-four spot.
Texas clinched a spot in the SEC championship game against Georgia with a win over Texas A&M, while Indiana potentially upped their stock with a 66-point blowout of Purdue.
The fifth CFP rankings will be released after Week 14 wraps up on Tuesday, Dec. 3, followed by Selection Day on Sunday, Dec. 8.
