Buy or Sell Latest on CM Punk, John Cena, OG Bloodline's WWE Royal Rumble Plans, More

Chris Roling

One can just feel 2025 is near—the pro wrestling rumor mill is full of huge names like John Cena and CM Punk, plus major events like the Royal Rumble.

In fact, we're almost at the time of year when the rumors outweigh the on-screen happenings in WWE and AEW.

That's not to say big things aren't happening, especially in WWE, where WWE Survivor Series: WarGames is now adding Paul Heyman to the mix, along with guys like Roman Reigns and even Punk himself.

But this is also, annually, what almost feels like an offseason for pro wrestling. That's especially the case before 2025 features a landmark event when Raw debuts on Netflix.

Here's a look at the most notable rumors making the rounds and whether fans should buy or sell each.

Big E Return?

The Rumor

Things are really heating up for the New Day, so here come the big rumors. According to WrestleVotes, Big E could appear as Raw celebrates 10 years of the group.

Reaction

It sure is interesting that Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston seem to be nearing a split right around the 10-year anniversary of the group. Big E was always naturally going to be part of any landmark occasion like this.

Buy or Sell?

Easiest buy of the week, all things considered. Even if Big E doesn't actually compete in a match again, he wasn't going to miss events like this. And now, he could play a pivotal role in healing or having the group fall apart.-=3

John Cena Royal Rumble Plans?

The Rumor

The John Cena retirement tour is about to get started in a big way. And as Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats pointed out, he's currently the favorite to win the men's rumble.

Reaction

It isn't all that surprising to see Cena's name near the top of any list when it comes to the Rumble. Beyond must-have feuds and matches with the likes of Randy Orton and CM Punk, it feels right that he'll grab gold one more time.

Buy or Sell?

Hard, hard sell on Cena actually winning the Rumble, though. He's Cena—no need for a briefcase or automatic shot. When he calls for one, he'll get it, especially on a retirement tour. One can imagine him being one of the final four to make the end-winner more surprising, though.

Plans for OG Bloodline?

The Rumor

Right now, Reigns is allied with The Usos and Sami Zayn. According to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman), that is something that will stay for an extended amount of time, perhaps through the Royal Rumble.

Reaction

The pace has felt a little fast, but it makes sense that this new OG Bloodline would then get drawn out through the winter before dissolving in some way around WrestleMania. Plans need to remain fluid beyond that, especially when availability (coughTheRockcough) remains a question mark.

Buy or Sell?

Easy buy. There's a lot of meat on the proverbial bone around this faction, especially depending on what Paul Heyman does and if and when The Rock returns. It certainly isn't ending at Survivor Series, that's for sure.

Jade Cargill's Injury Saga

The Rumor

Jade Cargill apparently suffered an injury. But apparently, she hasn't? According to PW Insider (h/t Ortman), the injury angle involving Cargill had nothing to do with an actual injury.

Reaction

Got all that? It isn't uncommon for Superstars to be written off television via an attack so they can miss time for personal reasons. Cargill got put through some glass after a beating during an off-screen segment recently, which led to speculation about a real injury.

Buy or Sell?

Buy, but it's all pretty silly. Regardless of whether Cargill is actually injured, it's clear WWE wants her off-screen for an unknown amount of time. All the speculation, at least, could help make her return all the more surprising.

Plans for OG Bloodline?

The Rumor

Right now, Reigns is allied with The Usos and Sami Zayn. According to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman), that alliance will last for an extended period, perhaps through the Royal Rumble.

Reaction

The pace has felt a little fast, but it makes sense that this new OG Bloodline would then be drawn out through the winter before dissolving in some way around WrestleMania. Plans need to remain fluid beyond that, especially when availability (cough, TheRockcough) remains a question mark.

Buy or Sell?

Easy buy. There's a lot of meat on the proverbial bone around this faction, especially depending on what Paul Heyman does and if and when The Rock returns. It certainly isn't ending at Survivor Series, that's for sure.
