After his random one-off showing at the end of Bad Blood on Oct. 5, The Rock's next appearance in WWE could happen fairly soon.
Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE is "hopeful" they can secure the Great One for Raw's Netflix debut on Jan. 6.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Carrier), Dave Meltzer noted people in the company said it "makes sense" for The Rock to appear on that show even though there has been no confirmation that he will do so at this point.
WWE is making sure the first episode of Raw on its new home is a star-studded affair. It will be broadcast from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, with John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Bianca Belair all advertised to appear.
Hip-hop star Travis Scott, who is performing the new Raw theme song, is also scheduled to be at the show.
While there will be a lot of attention on who does show up for the Jan. 6 episode of Raw, there's growing speculation that The Rock's next WWE appearance might actually happen as soon as Saturday night.
The Rock said in a video on social media that his promotional work for Moana 2, which released in theaters on Wednesday, is done.
While it wouldn't be a surprise if he wanted to take a little break after doing back-to-back promo tours for Red One and Moana 2, the Survivor Series main event featuring a Bloodline Civil War would make for a perfect opportunity for the Final Boss to make an appearance.
If The Rock is going to be a major player in the storylines leading up to WrestleMania, Saturday's premium live event from Vancouver could be an easy way to kickstart things.
