The B/R Wrestling Staff Predictions for WWE Survivor Series 2024 Match Card

Doc-Chris Mueller

Autumn brings colder weather, colorful leaves and, of course, the annual WWE Survivor Series event. In recent years, the company has opted to ditch the traditional elimination matches in favor of featuring the WarGames stipulation.

Two rings will be surrounded by one giant cage. Members of each team will enter the match in alternating order until all 10 competitors are in the ring. That is when the match officially begins and anyone can win.

In addition to the men's and women's WarGames matches, we will also see bouts for the United States, Intercontinental and World Heavyweight Championships.

As always, our panel of contributors is here to offer predictions.

Survivor Series Match Card

Here is a look at the lineup for this year's Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event:

Erik Beaston

New Bloodline and Reed vs. OG Bloodline and Punk

Who do you see getting the win for their team, and who do they pin to get it?

Solo Sikoa pins Roman Reigns following a betrayal from Paul Heyman, as hinted at by The Wise Man's choice of attire Friday night during his return. It gives Sikoa a defining win over the man he replaced, whom the betrayal will most adversely affect.

Gunther vs. Damian Priest

Lay out an argument for why Priest should win the title from Gunther.

One of the most interesting stories on Raw right now is Gunther's complete loss of confidence in himself after the loss to Cody Rhodes. Winning a world title match right away cuts that story off at a time when it feels like it is building momentum for itself.

Priest beating Gunther clean would set up a scenario in which The Ring General has to redeem himself. That can occur at Saturday Night's Main Event to really hammer home the importance of that show or at the Royal Rumble on February 1.

We have seen a lengthy title reign from Gunther already. This would allow him to work on the character part of his presentation.

Graham Matthews

New Bloodline and Reed vs. OG Bloodline and Punk

How would you lay out this match if you were the producer?

There are any number of directions this can go, but it would be a nice change of pace if Reigns entered first and Punk closed it out for his team. Ultimately, the Bloodline drama should be the focal point.

The New Bloodline and Reed can dominate a majority of the match before O.G. Bloodline and Punk pull through with win.

It's almost irrelevant who scores the win for their team, but Reigns would make the most sense given he has more bad blood with The New Bloodline than anyone else.

LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Do you think it's too soon for Knight to lose the U.S. title?

LA Knight is still doing a great job of defending his U.S. title on a regular basis, having fun matches and staying over with the crowd. Nakamura has already reigned as U.S. champ twice before, and neither of those runs was remotely interesting.

Knight shouldn't be losing the title anytime soon, especially not to a glorified stepping stone in The King of Strong Style no matter how cool his latest makeover may be.

Donald Wood

Team Rhea vs. Team Liv

Who would you book to win if you were in charge?

In these mass multi-person matches, taking the defeat isn't the worst-case scenario for the faces, as so many factors go into winning or losing a WarGames bout.

With that in mind, the heels should earn the victory, with Morgan taking advantage of everyone else's work and stealing the pinfall win over Ripley.

Breakker vs. Kaiser vs. Sheamus

If Breakker has to lose the title, who would you rather see win it and why?

There is no way Breakker should lose the Intercontinental Championship yet.

If WWE Creative needs to take the belt off the talented performer for some reason, then it should be Sheamus, who has never won the IC title.

The match should be exciting, but, again, Breakker should not lose.

Mr. Jeff J

Team Ripley vs. Team Liv

Who do you think will get the win for their team and who will they pin to do it?

I think Morgan will get the win by pinning Ripley to continue their long-standing feud.

I have a sneaking suspicion Team Ripley will have a defector on their squad who will double-cross them and lead to their defeat. Maybe its a bit galaxy-brained, maybe it's just celestial wisdom. We will see if I'm right.

Gunther vs. Damian Priest

Lay out an argument for why Gunther should retain the title.

I'm not ready for his reign to end. I love a long Gunther title run because his immense in-ring talent and imposing aura elevate anyone who feuds with him. He's one of the few heels who is strikingly intimidating.

Plus, I think a successful defense against Priest will help further build the prestige of the WHC. Let Priest and Gunther burn the building down and then let's see who emerges from the ashes a better man (Spoiler: It's both of them).

Chris Mueller

LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Did WWE push Nakamura into a title shot too quickly after his return?

Honestly, yes, but only because he is likely losing. Knight is red hot as the U.S. champion, and WWE doesn't want to kill that momentum.

This will be a good match and Nakamura may win the belt in a rematch down the line, but he won't this weekend.

Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser vs. Sheamus

How would you grade Breakker's reign as IC champion?

Breakker is doing his job well, but a lack of credible challengers has left his reign feeling a bit lackluster. So, I would give him a B, but only because he has been waiting for a match like this.

Kaiser and Sheamus are both talented performers who are going to give Breakker his best title defense to date, making him look as good as possible when he wins in the end.
