NFL Team Needs: Prioritizing Every Roster's Biggest Weaknesses Before Week 14

BR NFL Scouting Department

Three NFL teams have been officially eliminated from postseason contention as Week 13 came to a close. The offseason has officially begun for those front offices, with more soon to follow.

Every week of the season, we'll assess the state of each roster with a particular focus on its weaknesses. By the end of the campaign, we'll have built a big board for every team based on its biggest needs and wants. Everything from immediate holes to fill to the offseason player carousel of free agency and the 2025 NFL draft is taken into account.

The weaknesses here are not just knee-jerk reactions to the weekend's games, but more an overarching assessment with both present and future roster-building in mind.

All AFC teams are scouted by Alex Ballentine, and all NFC teams are scouted by Matt Holder.

Further analysis of every NFL roster will publish each Monday throughout the regular season.

Arizona Cardinals

Trey McBride David Berding/Getty Images

If the Arizona Cardinals end up missing the playoffs, this weekend's loss will be one that stands out and really hurts.

Arizona didn't trail until the final minute of the contest and had a chance to go up two possessions with about 3:30 go, settling for a field goal instead and allowing Sam Darnold to march down the field. That pushes the Cardinals to 6-6 on the year and a game behind the Seahawks in the NFC West standings after Seattle's win.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Defensive Tackle
  2. Cornerback
  3. Edge-Rusher
  4. Linebacker
  5. Right Tackle

Move to Make Now: Play Owen Pappoe more

Linebacker is a current weakness for the Cardinals as Kyzir White has struggled in coverage this season, owning a 38.8 grade from Pro Football Focus in that department heading into Week 13.

Meanwhile, Pappoe hasn't gotten much playing time. It's a small sample size, but he has earned a mark of 76.0 in coverage with limited opportunities. B/R's scouting department was high on the Auburn product coming out of college, primarily because of his athleticism and sub-4.4 speed.

Given White's struggles, seeing what the second-year pro can do with more reps would be worth it.

2025 Free Agency: DT Jarran Reed, Seattle Seahawks

Arizona's defensive tackles have been lackluster this year, especially when it comes to rushing the passer.

While Reed turns 32 next month and wouldn't be a long-term solution, he could be a good stop-gap to help make a playoff run next season. Per PFF, the veteran has 31 total pressures through Week 12 which would lead the Cardinals' defense.

2025 NFL Draft: S Dante Trader Jr., Maryland

Budda Baker is an impending free agent, so Monti Ossenfort will likely be looking for some safety help during the draft. The Maryland product could be a decent replacement for Baker since he shows the potential to develop into a well-rounded player.

"Trader projects as an early-round pick with the potential to develop into an NFL starter," B/R's defensive backs scout Cory Giddings said via the Terp's scouting report. "His versatility in coverage and strong run defense makes him a valuable asset, particularly in zone-heavy schemes where his awareness and instincts can be maximized.

"While he may need to improve his speed and man coverage skills to handle more athletic tight ends and receivers, Trader's overall skill set provides a strong foundation for growth. With further development, he has the potential to become a reliable and impactful player."

Atlanta Falcons

Kirk Cousins David J. Griffin/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

Is it time for the Atlanta Falcons to make a quarterback change?

Raheem Morris told reporters that he's sticking with Kirk Cousins as the team's starter after Sunday's loss to Atlanta, however, a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler before the game noted that the final six weeks of the year could determine Cousins' future.

With four interceptions this weekend and the team's third consecutive loss, it's fair to question if the offense and team would be better off with Michael Penix Jr. under center.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Edge-Rusher
  2. Nickelback
  3. Defensive Tackle
  4. Linebacker
  5. Quarterback

Move to Make Now: Continue to increase Charlie Woerner's workload

This has been in the works for the Falcons over the last few weeks as Woerner's snap counts have increased, and the trend needs to continue. Kyle Pitts has never been much of a run-blocker, so pairing Pitts with the five-year pro in more 12 personnel packages should be a focus moving forward to help maintain a balanced offense.

Throughout his career, Woerner has always been a good run-blocker and increasing his usage could also help set up some effective play-action passes to the team's second tight end.

2025 Free Agency: WR Elijah Moore, Cleveland Browns

Atlanta was hoping to get a dynamic slot receiver when it traded for Rondale Moore this offseason but, unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in training camp. Moore is also on a contract year so the search for an inside slot receiver will continue this spring.

Elijah Moore could fill that role and shouldn't be too expensive on the open market. That's perfect for an organization that is currently projected to have just under $8 million of cap space at the beginning of the offseason, per Over The Cap.

2025 NFL Draft: IOL Grey Zabel, North Dakota State

Drew Dalman is an impending free agent and, as mentioned above, Terry Fontenot won't have very much funds to re-sign the center. So, Fontenot is likely doing his homework on this year's interior offensive line class in the draft and the North Dakota State product could be a good under-the-radar target.

"Zabel excels as a run blocker using very good pad level and leverage to work inside/underneath his target on angle-drive and base blocks, working to step on the toes of the defender, work his hips through and seal off rush lanes behind his back," B/R's offensive line scout Brandon Thorn said via the Bison's scouting report.

"...Overall, Zabel shows starter-level physical tools with refined run blocking skills and understanding of leverage that signal he can become an immediate role player and potential starter within his first year or two with center likely being his best fit."

Baltimore Ravens

Justin Tucker Patrick Smith/Getty Images

The Ravens suffered their fifth loss of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-19. All five of their losses have come in one-possession games. This one, like some others, might have been avoided if they just made a few more of their kicks. Justin Tucker missed two field goal attempts and an extra point, leaving seven hypothetical points on the board.

The defense held the Eagles to just 118 yards through the air and the offense outgained the Eagles 372-252. The Ravens just didn't convert in pivotal situations. That can't happen as the postseason approaches.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Interior Offensive Line
  3. Wide Receiver
  4. Offensive Tackle
  5. Edge-Rusher

Add Now: Sign another kicker to compete with Justin Tucker

The Ravens have a Justin Tucker problem. It's hard to believe that Tucker, who has been the best kicker in the league for a while now, is struggling this much. Still, the Ravens really can't afford to continue to lose games because Tucker misses crucial field goal attempts.

Releasing Tucker shouldn't be on the table. He's too good when he's at his best to release and this very well could be a slump. However, the Ravens need to go to the free-agent pool and bring someone in to compete for the job.

2025 Free Agency: EDGE Azeez Ojulari, New York Giants

The Ravens have a strong pass rush right now with Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy leading the way right now. However, Van Noy is 33 years old and it's unclear if David Ojabo will ever step into his role as the team's second edge threat.

Azeez Ojulari has shown that he could be that kind of player, but he's stuck behind Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns in New York. He'll likely look for a place where he could take on a larger role, and the Ravens would offer the opportunity to do that on a contender.

2025 NFL Draft: WR Tre Harris, Ole Miss

The Ravens have one of the most unique offenses in the league thanks to Lamar Jackson's electric skill set. Their ability to thrive in 12 and 21 personnel groupings has allowed them to rely less on play-making wide receivers. Still, it would be nice to have another pass-catcher, and Tre Harris' ability to play multiple roles would make him a great fit.

Here's a snippet of his scouting report B/R's Dame Parson:

"Overall, Tre Harris profiles as a strong possession receiver with good run-after-catch ability. He is alignment versatile and can play all three wide receiver positions effectively. With his route running, strength, and football IQ, Harris projects as a productive starting receiver at the next level."

Buffalo Bills

James Cook Bryan M. Bennett/Getty Images

Tundra-like conditions and a desperate 49ers team were no match for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. Josh Allen and Co. were clicking on all cylinders in a lopsided win over the Niners. The Bills continued their streak of forcing at least one turnover in every game on defense while practically scoring at will on offense.

The Bills are as big a threat to win the AFC as anyone at this point. A dominant performance against a Niners team fighting for a playoff spot is just the latest example.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Edge-Rusher
  2. Cornerback
  3. Linebacker
  4. Interior Defensive Line
  5. Safety

Move to Make Now: Nothing

The Niners might not be having their best season, but they're still a quality opponent that the Bills ran right through. What makes the win even more impressive is that they did it without Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid or Kaiir Elam. They all missed the game with injuries but should be back soon.

The Bills just need to stay healthy and they'll be in good position once the postseason starts.

2025 Free Agency: EDGE Josh Uche, Kansas City Chiefs

The Bills have successfully transitioned from a lot of experienced players this season. The safety duo of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde along with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis immediately come to mind. They weathered those losses and have still managed to be a contender.

That should give them the confidence to cut Von Miller this offseason. They can cut the veteran before June 1 and save $8.5 million against the cap or wait until June 2 to get to $17.5 million in savings. Either way, the Bills could be on the lookout for a pass-rush specialist who could take over Miller's role. Gregory Rousseau is the main event of the Bills edge-rusher group, but Uche would be a good complementary piece.

2025 NFL Draft: LB Lander Barton, Utah

Linebacker isn't the most pressing need for the Bills, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get ahead of a need. There's no telling what Matt Milano will look like when he recovers from the torn biceps that has kept him out of the lineup. He'll be 31 next season and a lot of his game is based on his athleticism.

Terrel Bernard only has one more year left on his contract. So while the Bills seem to have a solid linebacker room right now, it's just an injury away from needing some answers. Adding Lander Barton through the draft would be a proactive solution at the position. At 6'4", 236 pounds, he's a bigger 'backer with the ability to cover ground in coverage. His versatility would make him an ideal addition.

(Previous Week's Selections: WR Dyami Brown, CB Trey Amos)

Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young Grant Halverson/Getty Images

Week 13 brought another tough loss for the Carolina Panthers, but the silver lining is Bryce Young is continuing to play well and showing signs of development.

Ahead of the game, Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Insiders that Young is "earning the right to be the team's starter in 2025," and his near 300-yard performance had to help his cause.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Wide Receiver
  2. Defensive Tackle
  3. Edge-Rusher
  4. Tight End
  5. Quarterback

Add Now: Give Caleb Farley more playing time

While the Panthers have been playing better recently, they're still looking toward the future for the rest of the campaign. The front office recently added Farley to the roster, but he hasn't seen the field much and that should change so the club gets an opportunity to see if the 26-year-old can be part of the long-term plan.

2025 Free Agency: LB Zack Baun, Philadelphia Eagles

Shaq Thompson is an impending free agent and turns 31 in the offseason. He'll also be coming off a torn Achilles, meaning his days in Carolina might be numbered and the defense will need some help at linebacker.

Meanwhile, Baun is having a career year in Philadelphia with a personal-best 105 total tackles through 11 games, 75 more than he's even had. Also, the 27-year-old who turns 28 next month has surrendered a 79.8 passer rating when targeted, according to Pro Football Focus, and will likely be one of the top backers on the open market.

2025 NFL Draft: WR Tre Harris, Ole Miss

With Bryce Young showing more promise lately, the Panthers will likely prioritize finding Young a new weapon during the draft. The Ole Miss product is currently the No. 2 wide receiver on B/R's NFL Draft Big Board and could be a good fit in Carolina.

"Harris's route running is good for a bigger framed receiver," B/R's offensive skill positions scout Damian Parson wrote in the Rebel's scouting report. "He attacks the defensive back's angles and leverages well to create space and separation. Harris thrives on in-breaking routes because of his footwork, route stems, and physical positioning.

"He is a good route salesman, pressing specific angles before breaking where the route is intended. Harris excels working routes in the short to intermediate areas of the field."

(Previous Week's Selections: Keep Andy Dalton on the bench, EDGE Azeez Ojulari, WR Tetairoa McMillan)

Chicago Bears

Matt Eberflus Mike Mulholland/Getty Images

Matt Eberflus' ineptitude cost the Chicago Bears yet another game as he literally let the clock run out on the team. The only silver lining from Chicago's Thanksgiving Day debacle is that Eberflus' game management was so egregious that he became the first head coach to get fired mid-season.

Now, the organization can move forward and begin its search to find a suitable leader and someone who can continue to develop Caleb Williams.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Right Guard
  2. Center
  3. Offensive Tackle depth
  4. 2nd Corner
  5. Linebacker

Move to Make Now: None

This week's recommendation was going to be to fire Eberflus, but the Bears didn't waste time by waiting until Monday to make the move. So, there's no additional suggestion this week as the club made the biggest change it needed to make already.

2025 Free Agency: QB Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts

Chicago should look into trading Tyson Bagent in the offseason since Bagent showed some promise in the preseason and could yield the club a decent return for a player who, ideally, won't see the field in the fall. However, that would leave the offense with a need for a backup quarterback.

Flacco has proven to be a quality QB2 over the last couple of years and wouldn't be a threat to unseat Williams for the starting job. Also, the 40-year-old could be a good mentor for the 2024 No. 1 overall pick.

2025 NFL Draft: OL Wyatt Milum, West Virginia

The Bears' offensive line has issues, as the unit lacks talent on the interior and depth on the exterior. The team also has five unrestricted free agents in the trenches this offseason, including one of the line's better players in Teven Jenkins, so drafting a college tackle who could convert to guard would be a smart move.

"Overall, Milum is an experienced, skilled run blocker with good play strength and powerful hands to displace and sustain blocks," B/R's offensive line scout Brandon Thorn said via the Mountanieer's scouting report. "He excels in pass protection on jump sets with a stout anchor to end reps quickly once latched.

"His upright playing style, sawed-off build, and mediocre lateral quickness lead to getting caught flat-footed and overextended when being set up by rushers capping his ceiling on true drop-back passes against high-end edge-rushers."

(Previous Week's Selections: Extend Teven Jenkins, CB Asante Samuel Jr., EDGE Mykel Williams)

Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow Jeff Moreland/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

Another week, another masterful Bengals offensive performance squandered by a defense that had no answers. Joe Burrow posted another 300-yard passing game with three touchdowns as the Bengals putting up 38 points. That should be enough to win, but the Bengals defense allowed Russell Wilson to throw for 414 yards and score 44 points.

The Bengals have some serious personnel moves to make on defense this offseason.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Interior Defensive Line
  3. Edge-Rusher
  4. Safety
  5. Linebacker

Move to Make Now: Play Myles Murphy More

The Bengals season is over at this point. A victory over the Steelers may have sparked one last run at a playoff spot, but 4-8 is a bridge too far. The focus should be on 2025 at this point, and that means letting younger players play.

Myles Murphy is a great example. His usage has actually been lower over the last three to four weeks than it was in the middle of the season when he made his debut this year. That should change as the Bengals need to find out if he can be the long-term answer in Sam Hubbard's spot in future seasons.

2025 Free Agency: LB Zack Baun, Philadelphia Eagles

Zack Baun is experiencing an incredible career turnaround with the Philadelphia Eagles, so it would be kind of surprising to see him leave Philly. Then again, the Eagles haven't always valued the linebacker position, so it isn't impossible. If he does wind up hitting the open market, the Bengals should be looking into him.

Baun has been an elite run-stuffer for the Eagles this season. His ability to get downhill and erase running lanes is exactly what the Bengals could use to fix their faulty run defense right now.

2025 NFL Draft: DT Mason Graham, Michigan

Lou Anarumo's defense relies on the front four winning their matchups. They're middle of the road in terms of blitz frequency and the unit was much reader when D.J. Reader was taking on double teams and eating up space for linebackers to attack. Graham isn't an exact analog for Reader, but he would give the Bengals a high-potential star on the inside again.

As B/R's Matt Holder noted in his scouting report of the Wolverine, Graham, "takes on blocks with a wide base and has plenty of strength to hold his ground one-on-one. Solid versus double teams and combo blocks, too. Can also fight back against pressure to avoid getting washed."

That alone would be a force multiplier for the Bengals right now. The fact that he also has the potential to become a potent pass rusher takes him over the top as a prospect.

(Previous Week's Selections: Poach CB Myles Bryant from Houston Texans Practice Squad, S Camryn Bynum, CB Will Johnson)

Cleveland Browns

Jason Miller/Getty Images

The duality of Jameis Winston was on full display for the Browns on Monday Night Football.

Cleveland likely wouldn't have kept up in a shootout with the Denver Broncos if it weren't for Winston throwing for 497 yards. He had spurts in the game where he could do no wrong.

However, it was Winston's turnovers that ultimately sealed the Broncos' win. He had 497 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions, including a pick-six to end a potentially game-winning drive with 1:48 left in the game.

At this point, the Browns are still going to be a tough out, but they have a lot of things to figure out this offseason.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Quarterback
  2. Left Tackle
  3. Wide Receiver
  4. Linebacker
  5. Interior Defender

Move to Make Now: Make Jerome Ford the lead back

Maybe Nick Chubb needs more time to get back to himself after his devastating knee injury last season. Maybe he's just hitting the age cliff as he turns 29 later this month. Either way, he is not the Browns' most explosive runner right now.

It might be time to officially shift to Jerome Ford as the lead back. Cleveland mostly went with the younger back as the game went on, but the two had split carries with six apiece in the first half and Ford was much more efficient.

2025 Free Agency: OT Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams

The Browns' decision at left tackle is only secondary to their decision at quarterback this offseason. Jedrick Wills is set to become a free agent and his tenure with the team has been marred by poor performance and injuries. It's probably time to move on.

That's easier said than done, though. It will be tough to carve out the money to sign a worthwhile starter, but Alaric Jackson would be the player to target. He is only 26 years old and ranks 26th out of all the tackles PFF graded this season.

2025 NFL Draft: Edge James Pearce, Jr., Tennessee

Ideally, the Browns will spend their first-round pick on an offensive player. Quarterback play, offensive-line injuries and a questionable receiver room have caused the unit's progress to stall this season. However, there's a chance the board doesn't fall their way in April and a defensive addition would make sense.

One of those scenarios would be an explosive edge-rusher such as James Pearce Jr. to fall to them.

B/R's Matt Holder noted the 21-year-old has "shades of Brian Burns." Pearce has to add some size and get better at holding up against the run, but the opportunity to pair an elite young pass-rushing prospect with Myles Garrett is a scary idea for opposing offenses.

(Previous Week's Selections: QB Jameis Winston, OT Kelvin Banks Jr.)

Dallas Cowboys

DeMarvion Overshown Sam Hodde/Getty Images

The Dallas Cowboys might be getting hot at the wrong time.

The Thanksgiving victory over New York makes it back-to-back wins for Dallas, but that comes after a five-game losing streak that essentially eliminated the Cowboys from playoff contention.

However, the team did get a strong performance from an encouraging young player in DeMarvion Overshown who had nine total tackles and a pick-six, providing some optimism for the future.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Defensive Tackle
  2. Cornerback
  3. Offensive Line
  4. Linebacker
  5. Running Back

Move to Make Now: Sign G Nate Davis

The Cowboys are beaten up at guard with Tyler Smith, Zack Martin, Chuma Edoga and Asim Richards all suffering injuries recently. So, the offense might need an extra body just to get through the season.

Additionally, Martin is an impending free agent and Davis is only 28 years old, meaning the organization could use the rest of the season to see if the former Bear could be a more long-term solution.

2025 Free Agency: LB Dre Greenlaw, San Francisco 49ers

Eric Kendricks will be a 33-year-old free agent in the offseason and was brought in because of his relationship with Mike Zimmer. However, Dallas' defense entered this weekend 31st in the NFL for points allowed and there is speculation that the entire coaching staff could get fired at the end of the campaign.

In other words, the front office might be looking for a veteran linebacker this spring. Greenlaw is coming off a torn Achilles but returned to practice this week. At his best, the six-year veteran is a top-tier linebacker who is well-rounded—excelling in coverage and against the run.

2025 NFL Draft: WR Luther Burden III, Missouri

Hopefully, Jerry Jones has learned this season that the offense can't just rely on CeeDee Lamb in the passing game and the team needs another dynamic playmaker out wide. While the Missouri product has fallen off a bit this fall, he could fill that role and be a good complement to Lamb in Dallas.

"Overall, Luther Burden III is an explosive and dynamic run-after-catch threat," B/R's offensive skill positions scout Damian Parson said in the Tiger's scouting report. "He should be able to carve out a similar role early in his NFL career.

"Burden has room to grow and elevate his game as a pro. He will benefit from being linked to a creative offensive coordinator who will utilize his full skill set to help the offense. The best way to implement Burden into the offensive system is to get him involved in the passing game from multiple alignments with pre-snap motion."

(Previous Week's Selections: Start Trey Lance, G Teven Jenkins, RB Ashton Jeanty)

Denver Broncos

AAron Ontiveroz/The Denver Post

The Broncos closed out the NFL week with a bang on Monday Night Football, winning a 41-32 shootout against the Cleveland Browns.

Despite the high score, they again have the defense to thank for winning the game. Two of the Broncos' touchdowns came on pick-sixes, including a 44-yarder from Ja'Quan McMillian with 1:48 left.

It was far from perfect. The Browns threw for nearly 500 yards and Jerry Jeudy had a big day against his former team. Bo Nix threw two picks himself and barely completed over half of his pass attempts.

Still, Denver got the much-needed win as it continues to hang around in the AFC playoff picture.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Center
  2. Running Back
  3. Wide Receiver
  4. Tight End
  5. Offensive Tackle

Move to Make Now: Bench Levi Wallace

Riley Moss was sorely missed on Monday night. The late-game interceptions ended up sealing the deal for the Broncos, but they covered a rough night from the Broncos secondary. Jeudy had nine catches for 235 yards, and many of those came at Wallace's expense.

Moss should come back to the lineup, but the Broncos can't have Wallace be the primary backup there.

Whether it's playing Damarri Mathis more or poaching another corner off a practice squad, it's going to be hard to put Wallace back in that role with confidence.

2025 Free Agency: WR Keenan Allen, Chicago Bears

Devaughn Vele's emergence has been a welcome development. If he continues on this path, he could become the second outside receiver to pair with Sutton. That still leaves a hole in the team's receiving corps where a savvy slot receiver could make it whole.

Keenan Allen is getting into the end of his career. He hasn't been the difference-maker Chicago thought he would be, but that will likely be a factor in contract negotiations.

The Broncos would benefit from signing someone like the 32-year-old on a one-year deal.

2025 NFL Draft: OT Emery Jones Jr., LSU

Garrett Bolles and Mike McGlinchey are a good tackle tandem for Nix to play behind.

The problem is that Bolles is a 32-year-old with an expiring contract and McGlinchey is already 30. The age cliff is a scary thing, and both tackles are getting closer to it.

B/R's Brandon Thorn projects a move inside for Emery Jones Jr., but he would still be worth drafting as a developmental tackle prospect.

Assuming the LSU product falls into Day 2, the Broncos could target him as a potential replacement for either tackle and end up with a solid guard as a consolation prize.

(Previous Week's Selections: CB Xavien Howard, C Drew Dalman, TE Tyler Warren)

Detroit Lions

Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs Mike Mulholland/Getty Images

At this stage in the season, it's all about surviving and advancing, which is what the Detroit Lions did on Thanksgiving in their 23-20 win over the Chicago Bears.

However, Chicago's ineptitude at the end of the game was a big factor in Detroit's win, and Dan Campbell can't be happy about his team nearly blowing a 16-0 halftime lead. There's plenty to clean up in the Motor City, but the important thing is the club is 11-1 and in the driver's seat to have the NFC's top seed in the playoffs.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Edge-Rusher
  3. Offensive Line depth
  4. Wide Receiver depth
  5. Left Guard

Move to Make Now: None

Like last week, the Lions have looked like the best team in the NFL, so there isn't a reason to shake things up. While the defense's linebacker corps has suffered some tough losses with Alex Anzalone breaking an arm and Malcolm Rodriguez tearing an ACL, the front office has already brought in a couple of replacements in Jamal Adams and Kwon Alexander.

2025 Free Agency: DT Javon Kinlaw, New York Jets

Detroit wisely signed Alim McNeill to a contract extension, but Levi Onwuzurike and John Cominsky are impending free agents. So the team will still need to add some depth on the interior defensive line this offseason.

Kinlaw isn't a game-changer by any means. However, he has been a solid player throughout his career. In other words, the 27-year-old could contribute off the bench and should be affordable in free agency.

2025 NFL Draft: IOL Jared Wilson, Georgia

Brad Holmes is expected to be looking for some interior offensive linemen in the draft since Kevin Zeitler is on a one-year deal. While Zeitler could get re-signed, he turns 34 in March and Graham Glasgow will be 33 in August. So the team could use some young developmental prospects in the trenches which the Georgia product is.

"Overall, Wilson is still a green, inexperienced starter but shows starter-level athletic ability and play strength that signal an immediate role player on the interior, especially if he can show positional versatility during the all-star circuit leading up to the draft," B/R's offensive line scout Brandon Thorn said via the Bulldog's scouting report.

Green Bay Packers

Josh Jacobs, Jordan Love Todd Rosenberg/Getty Images

We're five weeks out from the start of the playoffs, and the Green Bay Packers are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. The Thanksgiving night win over Miami makes it three in a row and seven wins in the last eight games for Green Bay, setting up for a huge matchup on Thursday Night Football against Detroit this week.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Center
  2. Edge-Rusher
  3. 2nd Cornerback
  4. Defensive Tackle
  5. Linebacker

Add Now: Give Eric Wilson more playing time

The Packers have had a bit of a linebacker problem this year in addition to Isaiah McDuffie and Edgerrin Cooper suffering injuries recently. Meanwhile, Wilson has played well with limited opportunities.

According to Pro Football Focus, the seven-year pro had participated in fewer than 270 total snaps and earned an 80.4 grade heading into this weekend. McDuffie and Cooper being banged up might force the coaching staff's hand, but Wilson has earned the opportunity to prove himself even when those other two are healthy.

2025 Free Agency: DT Daniel Ekuale, New England Patriots

Defensive tackle has been a sore spot in Green Bay in 2024, and T.J. Slanton is an impending free agent. So, the defense is going to need to add some beef in the middle to plug up gaps against the run.

The 6'3" and 310-pound Ekuale could help solve that problem since he has put together a strong campaign in that department this season. PFF credited the 30-year-old who turns 31 in January with 19 defensive stops through Week 12.

2025 NFL Draft: EDGE Princely Umanmielen, Florida

After trading away Preston Smith, the Cheeseheads could use another edge-rusher to play on the other side of Rashan Gary. Brian Gutekunst likes to draft pass rushers who are high-level athletes and the Florida product fits that profile.

Umanmielen accelerates off the line of scrimmage well to beat offensive tackles with speed around the edge and has a good counter with a nasty inside spin move. Also, he has the change of direction and strength to turn speed to power and has shown solid cross-chop and rip moves as well as decent bend around the edge.

(Previous Week's Selections: Kick the tires on Mason Cole, CB Kristian Fulton, LB Barrett Carter)

Houston Texans

Dalton Schultz Mike Carlson/Getty Images

The Texans continued a trend of struggling to finish games, but it didn't cost them a win this time. A 23-6 lead in the fourth quarter turned into a narrow 23-20 victory over a Jacksonville Jaguar team that didn't even have Trevor Lawrence for the full game.

The Texans' 8-5 record says they could be a factor in the AFC playoffs. However, there are definitely things that need to be cleaned up for them to win a postseason game for the second year in a row.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Interior Offensive Line
  2. Interior Defensive Line
  3. Linebacker
  4. Safety
  5. Edge-Rusher

Move to Make Now: Continue to involve Dalton Schultz more

The Texans have the bye week to build on the positives from this game. There were a few. For one, they protected C.J. Stroud better than they have all season. He only saw pressure on 21.1 percent of his dropbacks when that number has been closer to 41 percent all season.

Another positive was Dalton Schultz getting five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. After seeing just two targets in a loss to Tennessee last week, it was good see him be more involved.

2025 Free Agency: S Budda Baker, Arizona Cardinals

Eric Murray is set to be a free agent in the offseason. He gets a lot of run, as Jimmie Ward sees a lot of his action in the slot and the Texans have three safeties on the field. Ward will be 35 years old next season and only has one year left on his contract.

All that could lead the Texans to look into signing a free agent safety to team up with Caden Bullock. Budda Baker would be a premium addition. He'll be 29 next season, but he's still playing at a high level and could help this Texans secondary reach new heights in 2025.

2025 NFL Draft: IOL Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona

Houston Texans fans may riot if the Texans don't come away from the 2025 offseason with at least one new guard. The offensive line has been an issue all season and the left guard spot has been particularly challenging. Fortunately, the Texans should have the opportunity to draft some solutions.

One of those would be Jonah Savaiinaea. The right tackle out of Arizona potentially has a bright future on the inside, per Brandon Thorn's scouting report of the Wildcat:

"Overall, Savaiinaea is best suited inside at guard in the NFL, where his starter-level size, square power, and initial quicks can earn him a backup role with starter potential within his rookie contract."

Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson Jaiden Tripi/Getty Images

Don't count out Anthony Richardson and don't count out the Indianapolis Colts as a playoff team. That's the takeaway from the Colts' 25-24 win over the New England Patriots. Sure, no one is going to raise a banner for beating the Patriots, but the way Richardson played to elevate the team to victory in the fourth quarter is a positive sign for his growth.

Richardson went 9-of-15 over the final two drives of the game. He threw the game-winning touchdown on 4th-and-goal before running in the two-point conversion to win the game with just 15 seconds left on the clock.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Safety
  2. Tight End
  3. Quarterback
  4. Edge-Rusher
  5. Cornerback

Add Now: Sign Xavien Howard

The Colts were fortunate that Anthony Richardson had some late-game heroics up his sleeve. The defense didn't really do enough to win, as they gave up 400 yards to a Patriots offense that is far from elite.

There isn't much that can be done about the defense at this point, but Xavien Howard is one of the few free agents out there who could still be a difference-maker. He was still playing cornerback at a reasonably high level last season, and the Colts could use the experience.

2025 Free Agency: CB D.J. Reed, New York Jets

It's no secret that the secondary has been an issue for the Colts for a while. The offense bears a lot of responsibility for the Colts being unable to break out of mediocrity, but the defense hasn't been special either. A few of their young players have stepped up. Jaylon Jones has looked like starter material at times.

However, the Colts should be aggressive while Anthony Richardson is on a rookie contract. That means targeting one of the top cornerbacks on the market to fill a void. D.J. Reed came in at No. 5 overall on the post-trade deadline version of our free agent big board. He was great as a running mate for Sauce Gardner in New York and could do the same in Indy.

2025 NFL Draft: LB Jalon Walker, Georgia

Shaquille Leonard's drop off the age cliff after a back injury was a blow to the Colts defense—one they still haven't fully recovered from. Off-ball linebackers might be devalued, but Leonard was a difference-maker. E.J. Speed has developed into a good player, but he's in the final year of his contract and will be 30 next season.

A reset at the position might be warranted, and Jalon Walker would be a strong candidate to aid in that. Walker splits his time at Georgia as a true off-ball linebacker and edge rusher. Matt Holder compared him to Kyle Van Noy in his scouting report, and the current Baltimore Raven has put together a nice career.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Mac Jones David Rosenblum/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

The only excitement for the Jaguars this week was that Trevor Lawrence made his return to the lineup. Unfortunately, that return was short-lived as he was taken out of the game with a concussion in the second quarter after an illegal hit from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.

The Jaguars put up a good fight late in the game, rallying from a 23-6 deficit to lose 23-20. It was still too little, too late for a team whose season is clearly over at this point.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Interior Defensive Line
  2. Cornerback
  3. Safety
  4. Tight End
  5. Wide Receiver

Add Now: Sit out Trevor Lawrence the rest of the season

The Jaguars have five games left this season. Trevor Lawrence has plenty of time to clear concussion protocol and play again in 2024, but there isn't much point to it. The offensive line clearly needs to be reworked, and the Jaguars aren't in contention for a playoff spot.

Mac Jones came in and kept the Jaguars in the game this week. Giving him the ability to close out the season over the final five games could be an audition for a backup position moving forward, or he could make his case to become a starter elsewhere next season. It's time to let Lawrence heal up and get ready for 2025.

2025 Free Agency: WR Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams

Wide receiver isn't an immediate need that springs to mind for the Jaguars. Brian Thomas Jr. looks like he is going to continue to grow into a larger role, and there's a lot of money tied up in Gabe Davis, Christian Kirk and Evan Engram. They simply aren't getting enough out of that trio, though, and Kirk could be a cut candidate.

If that's the case, the Jaguars might want to look at adding someone to make up for the loss. Tutu Atwell isn't a direct replacement, but he is an exciting gadget player who could be a threat on jet sweeps and deep balls.

2025 NFL Draft: DT Kenneth Grant, Michigan

The Jaguars have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this year. While a lot of blame was being cast on Trevor Lawrence before he exited the lineup with injury and even more has been placed on Doug Pederson, it's the defense that has really let the team down. The Jags are last in EPA allowed per play and aren't much better in the most important defensive metrics.

If the Jaguars land the first pick, then Travis Hunter would have to be in play. But it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Jags to double up on defensive talent with their first two picks. Michigan nose tackle Kenneth Grant could team up with Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker and Arik Armstead to give them the kind of starting defensive line they could build around when healthy.

Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes Jamie Squire/Getty Images

There's an age-old debate about whether it's better to be lucky or good. The Chiefs seem to answer, "Why not both?" just about every week. That continued in Week 13 with a slim 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders to get to 11-1 on the season.

Considering they had a similar close call against the Panthers last week and lost to the Bills the week before, it's safe to say the Chiefs are more vulnerable than your typical 11-1 team. Most of the answers are on the roster. This is obviously a core that has won the last two Super Bowls, but they have to start finding them quickly.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Left Tackle
  2. Wide Receiver
  3. Cornerback
  4. Interior Defensive Line
  5. Safety

Move to Make Now: Start D.J. Humphries

This is the second week in a row that this is the rallying cry. Per the broadcast, Wanya Morris surrendered 11 pressures on Friday before he was eventually pulled from the game. The Chiefs bumped Joe Thuney out to left tackle and put Mike Caliendo at left guard.

That's not the answer. Inserting veteran left tackle D.J. Humphries, who was signed November 26, into the starting lineup is. Humphries is older and coming off an injury, but he's the best hope the Chiefs have of providing Patrick Mahomes with stability at left tackle.

2025 Free Agency: IOL Kevin Zeitler, Detroit Lions

The Chiefs are learning the hard way that relying on raw, young linemen can bring pain. The struggles at left tackle with Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris forced the Chiefs to sign D.J. Humphries in hope that a veteran close to the end of his career could help.

With Trey Smith on the precipice of free agency, the Chiefs might have to apply those lessons learned to filling his spot. Kansas City needs to find a proven veteran if Smith leaves elsewhere for a lucrative contract. Kevin Zeitler would be the perfect fit. The 34-year-old has come to Detroit and played at an elite level this season.

2025 NFL Draft: WR Kyren Lacy, LSU

The Chiefs' issues at receiver have been well-documented. Losing Rashee Rice and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown for the season certainly didn't help. The problem is that Rice still remains the only long-term answer. Trading for DeAndre Hopkins is a rest-of-the-year band-aid, and Brown is on a one-year contract.

The bottom line is that the Chiefs still need to be making dart throws at the receiver position until they hit. Rice was making a huge difference before he was injured. Drafting a prospect like Kyren Lacy a little later in the draft is an investment that could have big dividends.

The 6'2", 213-pound receiver does a good job of using his frame to seal off defenders and play the ball in the air. He could be a good complement to Rice.

Las Vegas Raiders

Aidan O'Connell hands off to Sincere McCormick William Purnell/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

A botched snap kept the Raiders from beating the Chiefs on a holiday weekend for the second year in a row. Vegas narrowly lost to the defending Super Bowl champs, in part, because of a botched snap with an opportunity to take the lead with just 15 seconds left.

It's been one of those seasons where nothing can go right for the Raiders. Holding the Chiefs to under 20 points is at least a good showing for a defense that has struggled more than it was supposed to this season.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Quarterback
  2. Offensive Tackle
  3. Cornerback
  4. Wide Receiver
  5. Running Back

Move to Make Now: Feature Sincere McCormick in the backfield

The Raiders' running game has been among the biggest disappointments. Neither Alexander Mattison nor Zamir White were able to step up and command a large role in the offense. Both have dealt with injuries that have allowed Sincere McCormick to shine over the past two weeks. He led the team with 12 rushes for 64 yards.

In reality, that should be good enough to keep White and Mattison on the sideline. The rest of this season is about seeing who can contribute next season, and it would be good to see what the rookie could do with more reps to end the year.

2025 Free Agency: WR Marquise Brown, Kansas City Chiefs

There's a strong likelihood that the Raiders will be breaking in a new quarterback next season. If they continue to lose, they should be looking at the top quarterbacks in the draft. Assuming they are starting a rookie next year, they will need the best weapons they can get.

Marquise Brown is likely to be an under-the-radar free agent next season. He's proven himself as a solid No. 2 option in an offense. He has missed the whole season so far with a sternoclavicular injury, but he could return by the end of the season. He'll have the final stretch of games and the postseason to earn a new contract. If he does that, he would be a good deep threat for whoever is at quarterback for the Raiders next season.

2025 NFL Draft: RB TreVeon Henderson, Ohio State

The Raiders have a lot of things to fix. They should be looking for a new starting quarterback, and it wouldn't be surprising if they are on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator, too. Scott Turner took over for Luke Getsy in the middle of this season, but he could just be an interim solution. Running back might not be at the top of the list, but it's definitely on it. Zamir White didn't take a step forward, and Alexander Mattison isn't inspiring either.

TreVeon Henderson isn't a three-down back solution, but he could be an effective part of a committee. He should specialize as a speed back with good hands. If the Raiders pay a free agent to be the between-the-tackles mauler then Henderson would make a for a good change of pace back.

(Previous Week's Selections: Start Aidan O'Connell, RB J.K. Dobbins, S Malachi Moore)

Los Angeles Chargers

Tarheeb Still Todd Kirkland/Getty Images

It wasn't pretty, but the Los Angeles Chargers found a way to beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Chargers mustered just 187 yards of offense. Ladd McConkey had 117 of them. Despite little support from the offense, the defense showed up in a big way. Their four interceptions of Kirk Cousins drove the 17-13 win, including a pick-six from Tarheeb Still.

The Chargers have to find some answers on offense with J.K. Dobbins on the injured reserve, but a win is a win at this point of the season.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Wide Receiver
  2. Cornerback
  3. Interior Defensive Line
  4. Interior Offensive Line
  5. Backup Quarterback

Move to Make Now: More Carries for Gus Edwards and Kimani Vidal

Losing Dobbins clearly hurts the Ravens offense, but there wasn't enough emphasis on the running game Sunday. Edwards and Vidal combined for just 10 carries, but they gained 52 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, Justin Herbert was sacked five times and the passing game only generated 147 yards on 23 attempts.

Edwards looked healthy when he had the ball and Vidal is a fresh-legged rookie. Giving them more of the offensive burden could at least help keep the defense off the field longer.

2025 Free Agency: S Justin Reid, Kansas City Chiefs

Jesse Minter's arrival has been a positive for a lot of the Chargers' defensive personnel. The unit is playing much better than it did last year, and there are several individual players who have been beneficiaries of the change. Alohi Gilman isn't one of them. His PFF grade has ranked 80th out of the 89 players they've graded.

Justin Reid isn't playing at an elite level, but he's a steady veteran who the Chargers could use. Minter's defense has been at its best with three safeties on the field, so Derwin James can be free to make plays. Reid would allow them to do that.

2025 NFL Draft: RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State

The Chargers have officially felt the entire J.K. Dobbins experience. The former Raven has been stellar as the team's lead back with 766 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground to go with 28 receptions for 134 yards. Then he suffered a knee sprain in Week 13 that will cost him some time.

Unfortunately, injuries have probably cost Dobbins a phenomenal career, and that will be reflected in his market. Even if the Chargers re-sign him, it will likely be to another 1-2 year deal. That shouldn't keep them from targeting another Ohio State running back in Quinshon Judkins.

"Overall, Quinshon Judkins has the blend of size, strength, and speed needed to become an impact player at the running back position. He is an RB1-caliber talent who boasts a scheme-versatile conceptual fit," B/R scout Dame Parson noted in his scouting report.

Los Angeles Rams

Kyren Williams Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images

Week 13 brought a much-needed win for the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles now sits at 6-6 and is a game behind Seattle for the NFC West lead. However, the Rams have a bit of a gauntlet to finish the season with the Bills and three divisional games left on the schedule.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Linebacker
  3. Guard
  4. Center
  5. Safety

Move to Make Now: Play Omar Speights more

To be fair, it looks like this is already in the works. The Rams' linebackers have struggled all season, but Speights has come in and played well recently.

The undrafted free agent may lack some athleticism but has good instincts against the run and should continue to see the field more often given the position group's struggles. Heading into this weekend, the LSU product had 21 total tackles in the last three games combined.

2025 Free Agency: C Ryan Kelly, Indianapolis Colts

Center has been a trouble spot in Los Angeles during the campaign as rookie Beaux Limmer has had his ups and downs this fall. Given Matthew Stafford's age, it feels like the organization's Super Bowl window is starting to close.

In other words, the club doesn't have much time to see if the sixth-round pick can put it all together and should go after a proven veteran like Kelly in free agency.

2025 NFL Draft: TE Jake Briningstool, Clemson

Hunter Long's contract is about to expire and Tyler Higbee, who still hasn't returned from last season's injury, is going to be on the final year of his deal and 32 next season. Expect Les Snead to target a tight end this April, and the 6'6" and 240-pound Clemson product is an intriguing prospect as a pass-catcher.

"Briningstool projects as a skilled pass-catching tight end at the next level," B/R's offensive skill position scout Damian Parson said via the Tiger's scouting report. "Putting him in the slot and outside as a flex weapon is the best for his development.

"He offers multiple passing game benefits to an NFL offense. The run blocking will be a storyline to watch early in his career as an NFL player."

Miami Dolphins

Mike McDaniel Todd Rosenberg/Getty Images

The Dolphins are known for their speed, but they looked like they had enjoyed a large Thanksgiving feast before taking the field at Lambeau on Thursday night. A 24-3 halftime deficit was too much for the Dolphins to overcome, even as they showed some life late in the game.

Beating the Packers on the road in a frigid night game was a lot to ask, but this loss puts the Dolphins even further behind in the playoff race at 5-7.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Interior Offensive Line
  2. Interior Defensive Line
  3. Wide Receiver Depth
  4. Linebacker
  5. Tight End

Move to Make Now: Tackle

This may be an oversimplification, but the Dolphins simply have to tackle better on defense. According to Next Gen Stats, the Packers offense forced 20 missed tackles. Josh Jacobs was responsible for 10 of those, but Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft and Dontayvion Wicks each accounted for at least two.

That's a toughness issue that Mike McDaniel and his coaching staff are going to have to address.

2025 Free Agency: QB Daniel Jones

The Dolphins remain the premium spot for a backup quarterback going into the offseason. There's no doubt that Tua Tagovailoa is the starter. He's looked really good lately and has a strong command of Mike McDaniel's offense, but the reality is that he's only played one full season in his career thus far.

A quarterback like Daniel Jones could come in, progress behind the scenes and get to work with a strong offensive mind in McDaniel. If Jones gets pressed into action he gets to work with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and De'Von Achane. It's a win-win for all involved.

2025 NFL Draft: DL Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

An interior defender has been a popular position in this space, but it really is one of the most logical positions for the Fins to target early in the draft. Christian Wilkins' absence has been felt and Calais Campbell isn't getting any younger.

Shemar Stewart could help replace some of that production. The 6'6", 290-pound junior has the tools to become a disruptive force against the run right away. His explosive first step also gives him the foundation to develop a pass-rush arsenal as well.

(Previous Week's Selections: LB Dre Greenlaw, WR Jalen Royals)

Minnesota Vikings

Sam Darnold Stephen Maturen/Getty Images

The Minnesota Vikings don't like making it look easy, but Sunday was another come-from-behind, one-possession win. That allows Minnesota to keep pace with Detriot for the NFC North lead and stay ahead of Green Bay before next week's revenge game against Kirk Cousins and Atlanta.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Linebacker
  3. Interior Pass Rush
  4. Offensive Line Depth
  5. Quarterback Depth

Move to Make Now: Sign LB Shaquille Leonard

While the Vikings signed Jamin Davis to help fill in for Ivan Pace Jr., who was recently placed on injured reserve, it couldn't hurt to bring in Leonard as another option. The 29-year-old has a better track record than Davis and was solid against the run last year, racking up 88 total tackles in 14 games for two different teams.

2025 Free Agency: RB Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers

Aaron Jones and Cam Akers are impending free agents, so Minnesota will likely be in the market for a new running back this offseason.

Mason is a restricted free agent, so San Francisco could match any offer he receives in free agency, but the 49ers also have several other players whose contracts are expiring and might be higher priorities than their backup running back.

Meanwhile, the three-year pro proved earlier this year he can be productive when called upon, and Kevin O'Connell comes from the Kyle Shanahan/Sean McVay coaching tree. In other words, the back would be playing in a similar offense as the one he's had success in this fall.

2025 NFL Draft: S Xavier Watts, Notre Dame

With Harrison Smith's and Camryn Bynum's contracts expiring, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will likely be looking for a safety or two in the draft. Watts is more of a box defender right now who could replace Smith, but the younger Notre Dame product does show the potential to grow into a bigger role down the line.

"Watts projects as a late first-round pick with the potential to be a year-one starter," B/R's defensive backs scout Cory Giddings said via the Fighting Irishman's scouting report. "His toughness and aggressiveness make him an ideal fit for teams looking for a physical safety who can play close to the line of scrimmage.

"If he can improve his change of direction and awareness in coverage, Watts has the potential to develop into a versatile and reliable safety."

(Previous Week's Selections: QB Carson Wentz, CB Benjamin Morrison)

New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara Derick E. Hingle/Getty Images

After a 2-0 start, interim head coach Darren Rizzi suffered his first loss on Sunday as the New Orleans Saints fell to the Rams. That pushes New Orleans down to 4-8 and likely puts an end to its slim playoff hopes as the team looks to build for the future.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Defensive Tackle
  2. Cornerback
  3. Offensive Tackle
  4. Edge-Rusher
  5. Wide Receiver

Move to Make Now: Bench Cameron Jordan

Jordan has had an excellent career with the Saints, but the 35-year-old isn't nearly the same player he's been in the past. The organization is likely headed toward a rebuild this offseason and won't be in the playoffs this winter, so giving more reps to younger players like Payton Turner and Isaiah Foskey should be the focus moving forward.

2025 Free Agency: OT Jedrick Wills, Cleveland Browns

New Orleans is currently starting Taliese Fuaga and Trevor Penning at offensive tackle, both of whom have questions in pass protection and might have a brighter future in the NFL at guard.

Meanwhile, Wills has been a solid pass protector during his four-year career. Plus, the 2020 first-round pick will only be 26 years old this spring, meaning he'd be a good fit for the youth movement in the Big Easy.

2025 NFL Draft: CB Cobee Bryant, Kansas

Paulson Adebo's contract is about to expire, which, especially after the Marshon Lattimore trade, will make cornerback a need for the Saints even with Kool-Aid McKinstry on the roster. So, Mickey Loomis is likely doing his homework on this year's draft class at the position, and the Kansas product could be a good target.

"Bryant is a long-armed cornerback with standout athletic traits and ball-hawking tendencies," B/R's defensive backs scout Cory Giddings said via the Jayhawk's scouting report.

"His natural athleticism and length allow him to thrive in bump-and-run coverage, making him an intriguing mid-round prospect. Though his technical skills need refining, Bryant's playmaking ability and aggressiveness stand out."

(Previous Week's Selections: Keep riding Taysom Hill, RB Kareem Hunt, CB Will Johnson)

New England Patriots

Drake Maye Winslow Townson/Getty Images

In the grand scheme, the Patriots' Sunday went about as well as they can hope right now. Drake Maye showed, once again, a high ceiling that should have the Patriots much more excited about him than they were about Mac Jones. He went 24-of-30 for 238 yards with a touchdown and a pick while adding another 59 yards on the ground.

Yet, the Patriots lost with just under 15 seconds left on the clock with Anthony Richardson scoring the game-winning two-point conversion. It keeps the Patriots in contention for the No. 1 pick while also showing signs fo being competitive.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Offensive Tackle
  2. Interior Offensive Line
  3. Edge Rusher
  4. Wide Receiver
  5. Interior Defensive Line

Move to Make Now: Get the young receivers more involved

Yes, the Patriots need to do what they can to win, and it's important to put Maye in a functional offense. But Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper were the team's leading receivers this week. Henry has been on fire recently, so that's understandable, but Hooper getting four targets while Ja'Lynn Polk had one is questionable.

Kayshon Boutte led the way for the young guys with three catches for 41 yards on six targets. Hopefully, we will see more players on rookie contracts contributing over the final four games.

2025 Free Agency: DT Milton Williams, Philadelphia Eagles

The Patriots felt the loss of Christian Barmore early this season. The Pats are 26th in EPA allowed per rush and Jaquelin Roy is the only true defensive tackle that has more than one sack. Barmore has since returned to the lineup after being diagnosed with blood clots that kept him out for most of the season.

His return should elevate the entire unit, but they still need more talent to come alongside him. Milton Williams will be one of the best interior defenders on the market and his age (25) should make him a popular target.

2025 NFL Draft: CB Jahdae Barron, Texas

Christian Gonzalez is one of the few young defensive cornerstones on the Patriots roster right now. He's a young up-and-comer at a premium position. However, Jonathan Jones is a 31-year-old pending free agent. The Patriots should consider trading drafting his heir apparent and pairing another young prospect with Gonzalez to potentially have a pair of good corners.

As Cory Giddings noted in his scouting report, the Texas defender has shown the ability to line up as a cornerback, nickel or safety. It's obviously preferable that he would be the other outside cornerback, but it's good that there are multiple ways they could use Barron.

(Previous Week's Selections: Bench Vederian Lowe, OT Walker Little, RB Nicholas Singleton)

New York Giants

Drew Lock Kevin Sabitus/Getty Images

It's been a disaster of a season for the 2-10 New York Giants. Not only did the team suffer a loss on a national stage to one of its biggest rivals this week, but New York also likely lost Dexter Lawrence and Theo Johnson for the remainder of the campaign.

Lawrence was one of the club's few bright spots, while Johnson had been coming along recently. This season can't end soon enough for the G-Men.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Quarterback
  2. Cornerback
  3. Guard
  4. Defensive Tackle
  5. Center

Move to Make Now: Start Drew Lock

The decision to bench and cut Daniel Jones clearly didn't sit well with Malik Nabers, as Nabers publicly criticized the move after the Week 12 loss. While there are financial reasons to play Tommy DeVito over Lock for the rest of this season, the organization shouldn't make decisions that anger one of its few promising stars.

Even if the wideout's comments were directed at Brian Daboll and Daboll will get fired at the end of the season, owner John Mara should step in and tell the head coach to play the better quarterback to ensure a positive relationship with Nabers is maintained. Also, Lock had a solid performance on Thursday and is clearly better than DeVito.

2025 Free Agency: CB Byron Murphy Jr., Minnesota Vikings

It's no secret that New York could use some cornerback help, as Deonte Banks has struggled to begin his career. But with the front office likely prioritizing a quarterback in the first round of the draft, free agency might be the best route to improve the position group quickly.

Murphy has been having arguably the best season of his career in 2024, recording a career-high 70.8 grade from Pro Football Focus and a career-low 80.0 passer rating when targeted heading into this weekend. Also, he'll be just 27 years old in January so he can be part of the team's long-term plans.

2025 NFL Draft: G Grey Zabel, North Dakota State

Greg Van Roten is only on a one-year deal, and the 34-year-old was likely signed as a temporary solution anyway. Especially with a young quarterback likely headed to the Big Apple, the Giants will want to invest in their offensive line and the Bison would be a good mid-round target.

"Zabel excels as a run blocker using very good pad level and leverage to work inside/underneath his target on angle-drive and base blocks, working to step on the toes of the defender, work his hips through and seal off rush lanes behind his back," B/R's offensive line scout Brandon Thorn said via the North Dakota State product's scouting report.

"...In pass protection Zabel has smooth, calculated footwork to square up rushers with good strike timing and placement to create lift and quickly transition into his anchor to grind down the bull-rush."

New York Jets

Aaron Rodgers Elsa/Getty Images

It looked like the bye week might have rejuvenated the Jets against the Seattle Seahawks... for a half. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns in the first quarter to jump out to a 14-0 lead, and a 99-yard kick-return touchdown from Kene Nwangwu put the Jets up 21-7.

Then a 92-yard pick-six from former Jet Leonard Williams flipped the game back in Seattle's favor and sparked a comeback that would be completed in the fourth quarter. The game showed that the Jets are still capable of stretches of excellence, but penalties (12 for 83 yards) and turnovers were too much to overcome.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Quarterback
  2. Safety
  3. Interior Defensive Line
  4. Tight End
  5. Edge-Rusher

Move to Make Now: Run the Ball

Managing Aaron Rodgers is not an easy task. He's always going to trust his arm to win games, but the truth is that Rodgers had little to no success throwing the ball downfield. According to Next Gen Stats, Rodgers was 2-of-14 on passes that had more than 10 air yards.

Yet, Breece Hall and Braelon Allen only had 17 combined carries. That shouldn't happen in a game they were winning 21-7. Committing to using both Hall and Allen could provide some more consistency with the offense, and they would only be sacrificing the deep passes that haven't been effective without running the ball anyway.

2025 Free Agency: S Jevon Holland, Miami Dolphins

It never hurts to improve your team and hurt a division rival in the process. Safety was a weakness on paper to start the season for the Jets. They really haven't done much to dispel that sentiment. It's likely the Jets will be in the market for at least one starter at the position.

Jevon Holland could be the best safety available. The Dolphins haven't extended him and have a lot of money tied up in Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and a few other pricey veterans. That's going to make extended Jevon Holland hard. The Jets could use his range and play-making skills to go with Sauce Gardner in the secondary.

2025 NFL Draft: DT Omarr Norman-Lott, Tennessee

The Jets' plan on the interior seems to be Quinnen Williams...and not much else. Javon Kinlaw, Solomon Thomas and Leki Fotu are all set to become free agents. With Robert Saleh no longer serving as head coach, it isn't hard to envision them letting all three walk. That will open up plenty of snaps for a rookie or free agent to fill alongside Williams.

Omarr Norman-Lott is a prospect that might not be getting enough love. His sack totals have fallen off from last season, but he's a 6'3", 315-pounder with the size and athleticism to make it in the league.

Philadelphia Eagles

Zack Baun Greg Fiume/Getty Images

The Philadelphia Eagles made a strong statement on Sunday, proving that they're legitimate Super Bowl contenders by taking down the Ravens in Baltimore.

The win also makes it eight in a row for Philadelphia and maintains its two-and-a-half-game lead over Washington for the NFC East lead with five weeks left on the schedule. Also, the Eagles are now firmly in contention with the Lions for the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Edge-Rusher
  2. 3rd Wide Receiver
  3. Safety
  4. Offensive Line Depth

Move to Make Now: Sign EDGE Justin Houston

The Eagles' edge-rushers have taken a hit recently with Bryce Huff suffering a wrist injury and Brandon Graham going down with a triceps injury that will sideline Graham for the rest of the year. Granted, the club did claim Charles Harris off waivers this week, but it couldn't hurt to bring in another veteran pass-rusher with playoff experience.

Houston obviously isn't the player he used to be, but the 35-year-old did have 9.5 sacks two years ago and would be worth the practice squad addition to provide some insurance heading into the postseason.

2025 Free Agency: EDGE Dante Fowler Jr., Washington Commanders

On a similar note, Graham is expected to retire at the end of the year, and Josh Sweat is an impending free agent. While Nolan Smith could take over as the starter moving forward, the defense could still use some pass-rush help.

That's where Fowler comes in, as he's been having a strong campaign with 8.5 sacks this fall heading into the weekend. While the 30-year-old who turns 31 in August has never been much of a run defender, he can get after the quarterback with over 50 career sacks.

Plus, it'd be nice to steal a player from one of Philadelphia's biggest rivals and likely the club's biggest challenger in the division moving forward.

2025 NFL Draft: DL Kenneth Grant, Michigan

Barring picking up his fifth-year option, Jordan Davis will be entering a contract year next season, and Howie Roseman typically likes to stay a year ahead of his team's needs in the draft. So, it wouldn't be surprising if the Michigan product is on Roseman's radar—he could be a good run-stuffer in the middle to replace Davis.

"[Grant] has pop in his hands to win at the point of attack and gain control of the block," the Wolverine's scouting report says. That, combined with a sturdy base, makes him very difficult to move one-on-one and decent against double teams.

"He might concede a yard when taking on combo blocks, but he can dig his heels in the ground to avoid getting pushed too far down the field or out of his gap. ... Overall, Grant's size and strength should help him at least be a good two-down interior defensive lineman in the NFL."

Pittsburgh Steelers

Russell Wilson Ian Johnson/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

Winning in the playoffs often requires a team to win in multiple ways. The Steelers have primarily been a team that wins with defense this season, but they showed on Sunday that the offense is capable of carrying the day.

The Bengals defense has been the cure for any ailing offenses this season, but Russell Wilson and Co. were especially sensational putting up over 400 yards through the air in a 44-38 victory. The defense needs to tighten up, but this was a good sign for the Steelers' hopes of making a run this year.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Cornerback
  2. Interior Defensive Line
  3. Wide Receiver
  4. Offensive Tackle
  5. Slot Corner

Move to Make Now: Nothing

There's really not much to say for the Steelers to do at this point. The defense has played better and will likely continue to do so when it isn't facing Joe Burrow. The Bengals might be 4-8, but the offense has put up a lot of production this season.

The Steelers did a nice job of distributing the ball on offense with five players registering at least one carry and 10 players catching at least one pass.

2025 Free Agency: CB Mike Hilton, Cincinnati Bengals

The Steelers' decision to simply roll with who they had at slot corner with Beanie Bishop at the beginning of the season has created a weak link in the secondary. Donte Jackson hasn't played all that well either, but the Steelers really don't have an answer on the inside to shut down slot receivers and tight ends.

Mike Hilton has always excelled in that role, but they let him walk in the 2021 offseason. Looking back, that was probably a mistake. He's played the role well for the Bengals and the Steelers should be interested in bringing him back next season.

2025 NFL Draft: RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

The Steelers have a good thing going with Arthur Smith serving as their offensive coordinator. The offense still might not be the most explosive group in the league, but Smith has them playing well enough to complement an elite defense. Part of that has been the success of Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren in the backfield. The only problem is that Harris and Warren are both set to become free agents.

Omarion Hampton is the kind of downhill runner that Smith loves. Drafting him would allow the Steelers to recover if either Harris or Warren are lost in free agency. Dame Parson compared the 6'0", 220-pound back to Josh Jacobs in his scouting report.

San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy Bryan M. Bennett/Getty Images

In a way, Sunday night's game encapsulated the San Francisco 49ers' season.

The year has been a perfect storm for San Francisco as injuries have plagued the team and played a big factor in their third loss in a row and second by blowout. That pushes the 49ers' record down to 5-7 and keeps them in last place for the NFC West. Also, all eyes are on Christian McCaffery as he suffered another injury in Buffalo.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Defensive Tackle
  2. Cornerback
  3. Edge
  4. Center
  5. Linebacker Depth

Add Now: Play Dee Winters more

This might be difficult now that Dre Greenlaw is about to return, but Winters has been playing well in his limited opportunities while De'Vondre Campbell hasn't. Plus, Fred Warner revealed he's been battling an injury for the majority of this season, so there could be room to give the second-year pro more snaps.

Additionally, Greenlaw is an impending free agent, meaning it might be good for the future of the team to give Winters more opportunities to develop and grow heading into next season.

2025 Free Agency: CB Isaiah Oliver, New York Jets

While Deommodore Lenoir and Renardo Green will still be under contract in 2025 and could be the defense's starters, San Francisco has several impending free agents at cornerback this offseason.

In other words, the position group could use some extra depth in the offseason, and Oliver played well for the club as a backup/spot starter in 2023. Also, he's played well in that role for the Jets this year and shouldn't be too expensive on the open market.

2025 NFL Draft: C Parker Brailsford, Alabama

Jake Brendel will turn 33 years old in September and has been an average-at-best player during his tenure with the 49ers. So, it would be smart to invest a draft pick in a potential long-term replacement and the Alabama product should be on John Lynch's radar.

"Overall, Brailsford's slender frame and lack of sand pigeonhole him at center and will be a limiting factor in the NFL when isolated head-up against defensive tackles," B/R's offensive line scout Brandon Thorn said in the Washington transfer's scouting report.

"But excellent movement skills, competitive toughness, alertness, and sustain skills are a chore to deal with and offer a valuable skill set that he can use to compete for a starting center job if flanked with bigger, hulking guards to help mitigate size concerns."

Seattle Seahawks

Leonard Williams Elsa/Getty Images

It was quite the day for Leonard Williams as he returned to the city and team that drafted him. Williams made a resounding statement, not only logging two sacks but also coming down with a rare pick-six for a defensive tackle.

More importantly, that helped push the Seattle Seahawks to 7-5 and gave Seattle a one-game lead in the NFC West to begin December.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Guard
  2. Defensive Tackle
  3. Linebacker
  4. Guard
  5. Tackle depth

Move to Make Now: Call up Quinton Bohanna

Johnathan Hankins hasn't been playing well this season, and the Seahawks waived Myles Adams this week. The defense could use someone on the interior of the line who can plug up gaps against the run, and Seattle might as well give Bohanna a shot seeing as the unit is running out of options with Hankins struggling and Adams out of the equation.

2025 Free Agency: C Bradley Bozeman, Los Angeles Chargers

Seattle's need for a center this offseason will depend on how Olusegun Oluwatimi finishes the campaign. But, after Connor Williams' mid-season retirement, the front office should at least explore who is available on the open market.

Bozeman isn't a game-changer by any means but has been having a solid year in Los Angeles. He could be brought in to at least give Oluwatimi some competition and shouldn't be expensive on the open market, which is good for an organization that's currently projected to begin the spring in the negative for cap space, per Over The Cap.

2025 NFL Draft: WR Luther Burden III, Missouri

It's been mentioned in the past that Tyler Lockett could be a cap casualty during free agency. If that happens, expect John Schneider to dive into this year's wide receiver class in the draft and the Missouri product could be a good target.

"Burden is an explosive and dynamic run-after-catch threat," B/R's offensive skill positions scout Damian Parson wrote via the Tiger's scouting report.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bucky Irving Grant Halverson/Getty Images

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a collective sigh of relief on Sunday, squeaking out a three-point overtime win in Carolina.

While the team has plenty to clean up, Tampa Bay evened up its record at 6-6 and managed to tie Atlanta for the NFC South lead. That puts the Bucs in a good position to make the playoffs, especially since four of their last five games are against teams with losing records.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Edge-Rusher
  2. Wide Receiver
  3. Defensive Tackle
  4. Guard
  5. Center

Move to Make Now: Kick the tires on Adam Gotsis

The Buccaneers could use some help on the interior defensive line outside of Vita Vea, especially against the run. Gotsis could be a potential solution to that problem and would be a good addition to make a late-season playoff push.

2025 Free Agency: WR Keenan Allen, Chicago Bears

Tampa Bay's receiving corps has struggled without Chris Godwin this season. The problem is Godwin's contract is about to expire, so the offense will need a wideout who can operate out of the slot.

That's what Allen has made a career out of and how he has managed to rack up nearly 11,000 yards during his tenure in the NFL. Adding the 32-year-old who turns 33 in April would be a good complement to Mike Evans and give Baker Mayfield another quality target to throw to.

2025 NFL Draft: LB Jihaad Campbell, Alabama

Lavonte David and K.J. Britt are impending free agents so Jason Licht will likely be looking for a linebacker in this year's draft. The Alabama product would be a good target and might remind Licth of David given his athleticism and coverage skills.

Campbell is a highly athletic linebacker who can fly and has good size at 6'3" and 244 pounds. Also, he has impressive eye discipline and the ability to read the quarterback's eyes to anticipate throws and close throwing windows in zone coverage. However, Campbell does need to add strength and could use some work versus the run.

Tennessee Titans

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Scott Taetsch/Getty Images

An ugly season got even uglier for the Titans on Sunday. For most of the season, the Titans could at least hang their hat on playing solid run defense and running the ball well themselves. Neither was true against the Commanders. They averaged just 3.2 yards per carry, while Washington had 267 yards on the ground.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Right Tackle
  2. Interior Defensive Line
  3. Tight End
  4. Quarterback
  5. Wide Receiver

Move to Make Now: Extend Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

The Titans don't have much left to play for in 2024. So one of the best things they could do is lock up a young player who has been a difference-maker this season to ensure he stays off the market. Westbrook-Ikhine has quietly scored at least one touchdown in seven of the last eight games this season.

If Tennessee goes with Will Levis at quarterback, they should also be looking to keep a guy who he clearly has chemistry with. An extension before the end of the season would be a goodwill move that would also check a need off the offseason checklist.

2025 Free Agency: OT Morgan Moses, New York Jets

Morgan Moses isn't an ideal solution for a young team. He's going to be 34 years old next season and may want to sign with a contender if he doesn't retire. However, he's still playing relatively well and is ranked 45th out of the 76 offensive tackles that PFF has graded this season.

By comparison, Nicholas Petit-Frere, the current starter at right tackle, is ranked 72nd. At least Moses would offer a serviceable floor.

2025 NFL Draft: CB Will Johnson, Michigan

The Titans obviously have a lot of things to figure out on offense. Will Levis's future with the team should still be up in the air, and the offensive line is still under construction. However, the quickest path to relevancy for the Titans might lie in their defense, which is already ranked eighth in EPA allowed per play. If the Titans really want to lean into that identity and address one of a few weaknesses on that side of the ball, then utilizing a top pick on Will Johnson out of Michigan would make some sense.

Listening to Cory Giddings' thoughts on Johnson in his scouting report makes him sound like a terrifying running mate for L'Jarius Sneed on the outside:

Will Johnson projects as one of the top cornerbacks in this year's draft, with the potential to be an impact player early in his NFL career. His combination of size, length, physicality and versatility in coverage make him a valuable asset for any defensive scheme. While he will need to refine his change of direction and reduce his tendency to gamble in coverage, Johnson's ability to disrupt plays both in the air and on the ground gives him a high ceiling."

(Previous Week's Selections: Give Ali Gaye more playing time, LB Jamien Sherwood, WR Isaiah Bond)

Washington Commanders

Terry McLaurin, Jayden Daniels Charles Brock/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

After a three-game skid, the Washington Commanders needed a dominant performance like Sunday's 42-19 win over Tennessee.

Jayden Daniels' four touchdowns helped silence some recent critics and give Washington a game-and-a-half cushion in the chase for an NFC wild-card spot. That's also some good momentum to build heading into the bye week.

Biggest Weaknesses:

  1. Defensive Tackle
  2. Offensive Tackle
  3. Wide Receiver
  4. Safety
  5. Cornerback

Add Now: Extend Bobby Wagner

Wagner is 34 years old and will turn 35 in July, but he's still playing at a high level with 99 total tackles heading into this weekend—the 11th-most in the league—while posting an impressive 83.7 grade from Pro Football Focus. Linebacker will be an offseason need for the Commanders if they don't re-sign the 10-time All-Pro, so might as well take care of that now.

2025 Free Agency: WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Wide receiver is a current weakness in Washington and finding a complement to Terry McLaurin should be a big priority for the club this spring, and the front office is currently projected to have nearly $100 million of cap space, per Over The Cap, to go after a big fish.

Godwin will be one of the most recognizable names on the open market and has plenty of experience being a productive No. 2 after playing alongside Mike Evans in Tampa Bay his entire career. The 28-year-old who turns 29 in February has racked up 7,266 yards and 39 touchdowns in his career.

2025 NFL Draft: CB Jahdae Barron, Texas

Even after trading for Marshon Lattimore, the Commanders will need help at cornerback with three unrestricted free agents at the position in Michael Davis, Benjamin St-Juste and Noah Igbinoghene. So, the Jim Thorpe Award Finalist should be on Adam Peters' radar during the draft cycle.

"Barron projects as an early-round pick with the potential to develop into a versatile defensive weapon for an NFL team," B/R's defensive backs scout Cory Giddings said in the Texas product's scouting report.

"His ability to play multiple positions, combined with his intelligence, physicality, and ball skills, make him an attractive option for teams seeking flexibility in their defensive schemes.

"Though he will need to improve his confidence in breaking on the ball and mitigate his speed limitations, Barron's versatility and toughness give him a chance to become a key contributor."
