Erik Beaston

Will she or won't she?

That is the question surrounding Becky Lynch and a potential return to WWE in time for the company's debut on Netflix on January 6 and the headline topic of this collection of rumors and insider reports.

What is The Man's current status and when might she come back to TV, if at all?

Find out the answer to that question, as well as the latest on a new WWE trademark filing in regard to AEW star Adam Copeland and which women's division competitor is earning rave reviews for her work of late, in this roundup of the latest news.

Latest on Becky Lynch's WWE Return

Despite buzz to the contrary, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Becky Lynch is not currently planned to be at the debut of WWE Raw on Netflix on January 6.

"When I asked, I was just told 'don't know where that's coming from.' She's been enjoying her time off, and WWE didn't want to pressure her from what I understood. Both sides believed they would work together again in the future," he wrote.

Sapp added that it would not be surprising to see The Man pop up there given the amount of star power WWE is loading the show with, but it is not imminent or even been discussed at this point.

Lynch last appeared on the May 27 episode of Raw, losing a steel cage match to Liv Morgan when Dominik Mysterio slammed the door on her head. Since then, she has been at home with her daughter, enjoying time away from the squared circle.

Lynch, 37, is one of the last decade's most decorated and celebrated performers and a WrestleMania headliner. She bolsters any card she is on, so it would make sense if WWE did what it needed to bring her back for that first Raw of 2025.

A return in time for WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas might be more realistic, though.

WWE Trademarks 'Edge'

WWE recently filed to trademark the name "Edge."

The purposes were for: "Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal."

This would presumably prevent Adam Copeland from utilizing his most famous moniker in All Elite Wrestling.

Under the "Edge" name, Copeland won 11 world titles in WWE and had a Hall of Fame career as one of the most decorated Superstars in company history. He revolutionized tag team wrestling with teammate Christian and popularized the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

Since arriving in AEW, the 51-year-old has amassed an impressive resume of matches but suffered a knee injury during his cage match against Malakai Black in May.

Copeland told Tyler Treese of ComingSoon.net hat he was up walking around in September and progressing from his broken tibia.

There is no word on an expected return date.

Backstage Support for B-Fab

B-Fab had her highest profile performance to date Friday night on SmackDown, when she lost a Triple Threat match also involving Candice LeRae, to Bayley.

Sapp reported that the former Hit Row member and associate of The Street Profits has earned respect and support backstage for taking the initiative to get better in the ring, frequently working out with Natalya and Tyson Kidd at their facility.

While still not a fully polished in-ring worker, the 33-year-old showed vast improvement in her SmackDown appearance, proving the hard work and dedication are paying off.

"Her initiative goes a long way. She's been called up, released, brought back, put with a different group. She's going above and beyond to make herself as available, useful and versatile as she can and always has a good attitude," one WWE producer told Sapp.

It will be interesting to see if her performance was enough to earn an increased on-screen presence moving forward and if so, in what role she will find herself.

A feud with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven could make for a fun program away from the women's championship, which would give all involved something fresh and interesting to do.
