The LPGA will award a record prize money total of $131 million during 33 official events in the 2025 season, the league announced on Wednesday.

This marks an increase of more than $14 million over the official 2024 prize fund and a $62 million increase from the league's pool in 2021.

The prize money involved in LPGA competition has now seen a 90 percent jump over four years, according to the league.

Also on Wednesday, the LPGA announced a two-year extension of the CME Group Tour Championship, the ongoing tournament that ends the LPGA Tour season. The event is now set to continue taking place through at least 2027.

The 2024 edition of the CME Group Tour Championship features a $11 million prize purse and a $4 million award to the winner, which marks the largest individual prize in women's golf history, according to the league.

Outside of the CME Group Tour, the 2025 LPGA fund includes $83 million in non-major prizes.

The FM Championship, which offered a $3.8 million purse in 2024, will become the first non-major event that is not part of the CME Group Tour Championship to have a purse exceeding $4 million next season, according to the LPGA.

In addition, at least 24 non-major events will be offering increased travel stipends, accommodations, and minimum payouts for participating athletes, according to the league.

Meanwhile the LPGA will offer more than $47 million in prize money at major championships, the highest total in LPGA major history, according to the league.

The 2025 LPGA Tour schedule begins on Jan. 30 with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando. The tour takes two swings through Asia and one in Europe, in addition to holding an event in Mexico for the first time since 2017.

The LPGA was founded in 1950 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary next season. First competitors will wrap up the 2024 campaign with the CME Group Tour Championship, which is ongoing at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
