YouTuber Jake Paul said Tuesday that he wished the 58-year-old Mike Tyson—who had eight blood transfusions back in June and lost 25 pounds in the hospital—would have put up more of a fight in their bout this past weekend.
"I wish he would have put up a better fight so that I could have, like, risen more and done more," he said during Tuesday's episode of Impaulsive (21:15 mark). "He was surviving. That was the only thing I didn't like."
Several states refused to sanction the fight, but Texas agreed to do so under the condition that it be only eight two-minute rounds rather than 10 three-minute rounds, and that the fighters wore 14-ounce gloves rather than 10-ounce gloves to absorb some of the force from the punches as a safety precaution.
In the end, the 27-year-old Paul defeated a man who hadn't fought professionally in nearly 20 years. Perhaps at some point he'll face a boxer his own age, and in his prime, rather than a converted MMA fighter or someone three decades his senior.
