Tommy Fury Calls Jake Paul Rematch 'Inevitable,' Would Take Fight 'In a Heartbeat'

Paul Kasabian

Jake Paul's lone loss in his 12-fight professional career was to Tommy Fury in February 2023 via split decision.

When asked by ESPN's James Regan whether he wants a rematch, Fury emphatically stated that he was and even believes it's "inevitable."

"In a heartbeat, yeah. I mean at the end of the day I think me and him, we're set in stone." Fury told Regan.

"He's only got one defeat and that's to me, so it's inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring.

"I know I'm going to be an improved fighter and with him the [fights] he's taking and what he's doing, I'm not sure if he's going to improve that much."

Paul just defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson, the former undisputed world heavyweight champion, via unanimous decision last Friday. He is now 11-1 with seven knockouts.

Fury, a professional boxer who's also the half-brother of former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, is 10-0 lifetime with four knockouts. He'll always have that lone win over Paul, which perhaps could make for an intriguing rematch.

The issue is Paul seems to be looking ahead to former two-class UFC champion Conor McGregor in the Octagon no less.

McGregor, who previously called out Paul for fighting a 58-year-old, doesn't particularly seem interested, based on his Instagram response.

The same goes for Canelo Alvarez, who is not interested in fighting Paul, even saying it would be "bad for boxing."

Paul has notably called out Alvarez in the past and did so again on Friday.

There were 108 million viewers worldwide on Netflix for the Paul vs. Tyson match. While many of those viewers presumably tuned in to watch the former baddest man on the planet fight one last time, it's clear Paul is a big draw himself.

As of now, it doesn't appear a current monster combat sports name a la McGregor or Alvarez is going to fight Paul, but the 27-year-old continues to win and make a profitable career out of this.

Whether his next fight is Fury or someone else remains to be seen, but if Paul wants to avenge his lone loss, the opportunity is there.
