Caleb Cunningham—a 5-star wideout from Ackerman, Mississippi and the No. 16 player overall in the Class of 2025 and No. 2 receiver, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings—is headed to Ole Miss.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Cunningham has flipped his commitment from Alabama to Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss:
"Home is home!" Cunningham posted on social media, verifying the news.
While the loss hurts Alabama, the Crimson Tide still have the No. 2 overall recruiting class for 2025, according to 247Sports, trailing only Ohio State.
Ole Miss has moved up to No. 16, meanwhile, with Cunningham the crown jewel as the only 5-star currently committed for 2025 and the eighth-best recruit the school has ever landed. He's one of three wideouts committed, joining 3-stars Dillon Alfred and Samari Reed.
Cunningham told Rivals in late October that Ole Miss never gave up the chase for him.
"I actually feel good about Ole Miss," he said. "They haven't stopped recruiting me since day one. They definitely show that they really want me. The coaching staff is telling me why I should come there. They have good reasons. They always tell me to stick to the facts. They're also telling me I could start as a freshman."
As for the impact Cunningham could have at Ole Miss, Gabe Brooks of 247Sports wrote that the 6'1" and 190-pound wideout profiles similarly to LSU's Kyren Lacy and that despite questions about his athleticism "from speed and lateral perspectives relative to others in the class," his athletic profile is nonetheless "admittedly excellent" and that he "projects as a high-major impact player with a long-term ceiling that could lead to NFL Draft consideration."
It's a major flip for Kiffin and Ole Miss, in other words, as they look to keep pace in the loaded SEC.
