Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions are locked in a defensive battle against the Houston Texans, with Goff having thrown five interceptions heading into the fourth quarter.
The 30-year-old quarterback had thrown only four interceptions all season before Sunday night's game.
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud also threw two interceptions in the game.
Fans flooded social media to criticize Goff, who has thrown one touchdown against his five interceptions through the first three quarters.
Goff ultimately completed 15-of-30 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and five total interceptions.
In the end, Goff's interceptions didn't derail the Lions' hopes, as they rallied with 19 unanswered points to secure a 26-23 comeback victory over the Texans, thanks to kicker Jake Bates.
Goff had been on fire over the past three games, completing 88.0 percent of his passes against the Minnesota Vikings, 80 percent against the Tennessee Titans, and 81.8 percent against the Green Bay Packers.
His last interception had come in a 20-13 Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Lions will play the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday at home.
