Week 11 Waiver Wire: Breakout Fantasy Football Pickups from Sunday's Box Scores

Joe Tansey

Some members of the 2024 NFL rookie class are starting to make a larger impact on their respective teams.

Ricky Pearsall and Audric Estime were two of the most impactful first-year players in Week 10, and their roles should grow in the coming weeks.

Pearsall excelled inside the San Francisco 49ers passing game, while Estime took control of the Denver Broncos ground attack.

A handful of veterans popped up in important roles as well in Week 10. A few of them could be smart waiver-wire pickups as the regular season dives into its second half.

Ricky Pearsall turned in the best performance of his young NFL career in Week 10.

The rookie out of Florida scored his first NFL touchdown and caught four passes for 73 yards in the San Francisco 49ers' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It felt like only a matter of time before Pearsall featured in a larger role inside the 49ers offense given his spot on the depth chart.

The time to pick Pearsall up off the waiver wire is now. He will have an even more increased role inside the 49ers offense during the second half of the season.

Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey will always be the top fantasy picks from the 49ers roster, but Pearsall has the potential to thrive in the Brandon Aiyuk role.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling appeared out of nowhere to score two touchdowns for the New Orleans Saints.

The veteran wide receiver caught three balls for 109 yards inside a New Orleans offense that was desperate for help due to a ton of injuries.

MVS finished with the most targets of any Saints wide receiver and he had the third-most targets of any Saints played behind Alvin Kamara and Juwan Johnson.

The injury issues are not going away anytime soon for the Saints, so it might be wise to add MVS as a bye-week replacement to see if he can replicate Sunday's performance.

Cam Akers could end up being a valuable waiver-wire addition for the entire second half of the regular season.

The Minnesota Vikings running back carried the ball 13 times on Sunday in a game where Aaron Jones suffered an injury.

Jones' injury was not severe, but the Vikings will want to have their starting running back at 100 percent for the playoff push.

With that in mind, Akers could receive more carries in certain games, especially the next two contests against the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears.

Minnesota has a handful of important games ahead in December and January. Any rest for Jones against weaker opposition could benefit the Vikings in the long run.

Audric Estime

Audric Estime has been on the waiver-wire radar for a few weeks.

The rookie running back out of Notre Dame broke through with a significantly larger workload in Week 10, even though he faced the Kansas City Chiefs.

Estime led the Denver Broncos with 14 carries and 53 rushing yards. His previous season high was five rushes.

As the season goes on, Estime should see more run than Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin, so the time is right to buy low on a rookie with a ton of potential.
