On the heels of Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WWE turns its attention to Survivor Series on November 30 from Vancouver, Canada.
Roman Reigns, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, and Cody Rhodes are all Superstars expected to appear on that show, but in what role?
Ahead of the annual Thanksgiving week tradition, find out the answer to that question with this preview.
Crown Jewel Results
The results from Saturday's show in Riyadh saw:
- Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes defeated world heavyweight champion Gunther to win the men's Crown Jewel Championship
- United States champion LA Knight defeated Andrade and Carmelo Hayes to retain
- Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens never started
- Women's world champion Liv Morgan defeated WWE women's champion Nia Jax to win the women's Crown Jewel Championship
- Seth "Freakin" Rollins defeated Bronson Reed
- Women's tag team champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeated Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane, and Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to retain
- Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga defeated Roman Reigns and The Usos
Seth "Freakin" Rollins
Seth "Freakin" Rollins defeated "Big" Bronson Reed Saturday afternoon in Riyadh, weathering the storm that was the larger competitor's ferocity and strength advantage.
Though he left Reed defeated and bleeding from a laceration on his head, The Visionary is unlikely to be finished with his rival.
WWE did not go through the trouble of heating Reed up to the extent that they did just to have him lose the first match between him and Rollins and slink off, back to the mid-card. He is clearly involved in the Raw brand's creative plans moving forward and will have Rollins in his crosshairs in the fallout from Crown Jewel.
He admitted as much in a YouTube exclusive interview.
Rollins will re-enter the World Heavyweight Championship scene at some point in the near(ish) future.
It will not happen until he has settled things definitively with Reed.
Presumably at Survivor Series.
Roman Reigns
Things did not go according to plan for Reigns at Crown Jewel.
The OTC's reunion with Jimmy and Jey Uso did not result in a victory over Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu. Instead, he was defeated clean and in the center of the ring after enduring three Samoan Spikes.
The miscommunication between Reigns and Sami Zayn that followed the match only further left the former champion reeling.
The misfortune and frustration will not last long.
First, he will settle his differences with Jey, which still clearly exist if his facial expressions during the former Intercontinental champion's entrance were any indicator. He will then reunite with the former Honorary Uce, Zayn.
From there, the OG Bloodline will go to war with Sikoa and his revamped Bloodline in War Games at Survivor Series in Vancouver.
It will be a major premium live event headliner and the culmination of six months of storytelling. More importantly, it will be the jumping-off point for the next chapter of this enormous, epic, overarching storyline that ultimately climaxes with whatever it is Reigns does at WrestleMania 41.
Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes captured the Crown Jewel Championship in Saturday's main event and now faces relative uncertainty with Survivor Series on the horizon.
Or not.
While Kevin Owens would appear to have unfinished business with Randy Orton after their match never began, leading to a brawl that concluded with KO delivering an elbow drop from the stands onto The Legend Killer, The Prizefighter will almost certainly find himself challenging his former friend Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in Vancouver.
He assaulted Rhodes to finalize his heel turn, and the decisions made by The American Nightmare sparked his betrayal.
The question is not whether Rhodes will battle Owens but whether Orton is involved in a Triple Threat Match.
Regardless, Rhodes will be in the middle of a highly personal program threatening friendship and his championship reign.
