Roman Reigns' Next Feud Is Lined Up After WWE Crown Jewel as Bloodline Steals Show

WWE is cooking up something huge for Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns and the faction-based Bloodline drama—that much was clear after the opening match at the 2024 edition of Crown Jewel on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Who says nothing important happens at WWE international shows? Solo Sikoa's Bloodline started beating down Reigns and The Usos after their victory. Then Zayn came out to even the odds.

And quickly, accidentally hit Reigns with a Helluva Kick.

Then, WWE hit fans with this:

Yeah, WWE is cooking in a way that might make Dwayne Johnson blush.

Fans know the long history between Zayn, Reigns and the overarching Bloodline. On the last episode of Raw before this premium live event, he was seen conversing with Sikoa in private.

Then, when coming out to make the save on Saturday, he briefly faked aligning himself with Sikoa before attacking him. And when he delivered that kick to Reigns accidentally, one could argue that he maybe, just maybe, might have hit his intended target anyway.

One person who might argue that?

Roman Reigns.

The real Tribal Chief (in his mind and that of fans, anyway) is still very much toeing the line between good and bad. He's back with his family, to a degree, but he's still got a whole lot of apologizing and mending to do to really hit on a redemption arc.

And making good with Zayn would always be the most difficult of all. With The Usos—just look at Jey over the last two weeks—Roman is family, and at some point, one has to shrug it off and find a way to make it work.

But Zayn wasn't.

The former gaslighting, borderline evil Tribal Chief did him dirty, and Zayn eventually repaid him. And he won't take kindly to taking that kick on Saturday in Saudi Arabia. Even worse, based on the footage, Zayn didn't look all that sorry about it. Maybe it was an accident, but he's probably not sorry. He is, after all, trying to help Jey and hasn't exactly forgiven Reigns, either.

Heck, The Original Tribal Chief might even use it as an excuse to lash out at Zayn, if not at least keep him at arm's length.

The timing all lines up on the calendar, too. WWE has Survivor Series: WarGames at the end of the month. That feels like the perfect time for Zayn to team up with Reigns and Co., only for another mishap to occur that really pushes things over the edge.

In fact, Zayn vs. Reigns might be the perfect gauntlet of grudge matches to run around the new year. WWE has to fill out the epic return of Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14. Then, the company obviously has some massive stuff planned for the first episode of Raw on Netflix in early January.

It almost feels like WWE plotted the story and molded the calendar to it. Call it the perfect bit of natural-feeling storytelling over the next few months before the big obvious thing set to happen early next year: The Rock gets involved in earnest.

By then, with Zayn presumably at the side of Reigns, The Final Boss steps back into the picture and starts laying the groundwork for the expected WrestleMania 41 match to really end the Bloodline stuff for good.

Don't think this shortchanges Zayn, either. Even after all this, there's still that little matter of...Kevin Owens.

KO, the guy who has been on a warpath to shut down any and all Superstars who align with Reigns, isn't exactly going to be thrilled if and when everyone patches things up and becomes good friends again.

On this timeline, this would give fans a Zayn-Owens 'Mania match with some downright historic, years-long storytelling behind it.

Of course, this is just skimming the top of multiple storylines with many years of buildup now. It hasn't even been mentioned, for example, that Sikoa pinned Reigns, of all things, which will be brought up by Sikoa himself, The Rock and others.

For now, though, WWE has rightfully circled perhaps the most complex thing about Reigns' redemption tour in red ink. That's Zayn, and all signs point to the story smartly navigating a tricky end-of-year schedule to paint an unforgettable scene before WrestleMania next year.
