In a rematch of their clash at WrestleDream last month, "Switchblade" Jay White once again defeated "Hangman" Adam Page at AEW Full Gear on Saturday.
During the match, White appeared to injure his leg, prompting Page to target the weakened area as the action spilled outside the ring for several minutes.
Despite the apparent injury, White bounced back as the two exchanged finishing attempts in the final moments. However, Page was caught off guard by a Blade Runner out of nowhere, giving White the victory via pinfall.
Entering Full Gear, Page had very little success against White during his career despite them facing each other on numerous occasions.
White was victorious in their first three meetings in non-tag team settings, beating Hangman twice in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2018 and then winning a four-way match against Page, Adam Cole and Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door in 2022.
Page finally got the better of White on an episode of Collision in July when Hangman beat him in the semifinals of the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament due largely to interference from Christian Cage.
White got his chance at redemption when he met Page again at WrestleDream, although Hangman entered the match with a ton of momentum on his side after defeating Swerve Strickland in a lights out steel cage match at All Out.
Despite that, Switchblade came out on top at WrestleDream in only his second match since July after missing time due to injury.
Coming out of WrestleDream, Page clearly wasn't over the loss, as he cost White a match against Christian on the Oct. 16 episode of Dynamite. White later got some retribution in the form of his Bang Bang Gang stablemates attacking Hangman.
With White and Page still embroiled in a heated rivalry, White decided to give Page another shot at him by challenging him to a match at Full Gear.
However, in doing so, White attempted to get in Page's head by bringing up his abysmal record against him and noting that Hangman appeared to get injured during the Bang Bang Gang attack.
With several factors working against him, Page fell short once again at Full Gear, while White scored another huge victory that could potentially propel him into AEW World Championship contention in the near future.
