Video: Bobby Lashley Debuts in AEW, Attacks Swerve After WWE Exit

Joseph Zucker

The Hurt Business is, well, back in business.

Bobby Lashley made his AEW debut Wednesday and reunited with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. Together, they attacked Swerve Strickland after Strickland beat Benjamin in the main event of Dynamite, leaving the former AEW world champion laid out in the ring.

Lashley's contract with WWE expired in August, leaving many fans to wonder whether he'd turn up in a different promotion. Granted, he sounded excited to pursue endeavors outside of wrestling.

Once MVP showed up at Dynamite Grand Slam, though, it looked like only a matter of time before Lashley would follow. Benjamin's arrival a week later basically eliminated all doubt.

Independent of his allegiance with MVP and Benjamin, Lashley is a major addition on his own. The 48-year-old is a two-time WWE champion and held TNA's top belt on four occasions.

His run with The Hurt Business is also where he did some of his best work creatively with WWE since he, MVP and Benjamin complement one another so well.

Now that they're officially a trio again, they're one of the most fearsome groups on the AEW roster. Benjamin has stated his desire to become a world champion and Lashley presumably has a similar goal. The newly christened Hurt Syndicate will turn their focus to individual or tag gold before too long.
