Crown Jewel 2024 has the opportunity to change the landscape of WWE through strong results and booking.
The first-ever Crown Jewel champions will be crowned at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther has a chance to be a match-of-the-year contender, and the ramifications of Nia Jax vs. Liv Morgan could extend past 2024.
The Bloodline will continue to wage war as The Usos reunite with Roman Reigns to face Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. This contest would certainly push the rivalry into Survivor Series: WarGames on Nov. 30.
Multiple titles are on the line on Saturday. Can LA Knight retain the United States Championship with both Andrade and Carmelo Hayes working at their best? Will women's tag team champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair overcome the odds in a Fatal 4-Way tag match?
These are just some of the big moments promised for Crown Jewel. With stakes this high, more babyface and heel turns are just as likely.
Who will make a splash and change their character on Saturday?
Heel: Sami Zayn
It may sound inconceivable for lovable babyface Sami Zayn to turn bad, but he has a strong incentive based on his story with The Bloodline.
While Jey Uso has forgiven Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns for what they did to him, Zayn hasn't. He still sees an abusive leader in The Original Tribal Chief as well as a manipulator in Jimmy.
While Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa have terrorized SmackDown, Zayn has not felt their wrath. He could be convinced that the new Bloodline leader is in the right.
If so, The Underdog from the Underground might travel to Saudi Arabia to cost Reigns this match and set the stage for a WarGames battle where anyone could get involved.
While Sikoa's group has the numbers advantage for the moment, Loa has been inconsistent in the ring and WWE may want to improve the Survivor Series main event by including a proven big-match performer.
It's still more likely Zayn will choose Reigns over Sikoa, but the stage is set for either move at Crown Jewel.
Face: Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton will become a crowd favorite sooner than later. It's just a matter of when, not if.
Crown Jewel is another opportunity for a cash-in that would rock the foundation of the WWE women's divisions.
While Nia Jax and Liv Morgan are fighting for the Crown Jewel Championship, both will be in the ring and vulnerable for Stratton to take their gold by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract.
A full face turn would require cashing in on Jax, but it seems more likely The Center of the Universe would try to go after Morgan instead if it happens at Crown Jewel.
Even in that case, the fans would fully support Stratton, and it could be the first step in the 25-year-old becoming a top name in WWE.
It may be best to wait until Survivor Series where Stratton and Jax would likely be on the same side in the women's WarGames match, but anything is possible.
Heel: Andrade
Everyone involved in the United States Championship picture has teased heel tendencies. Carmelo Hayes is obviously the primary villain, but Andrade's frustration is growing.
LA Knight also made clear he would do anything to take down both men, leading to a messy finish to a contest that should have been a No. 1 contender's match for Hayes and Andrade last week on SmackDown.
Of all the options, El Idolo going bad is the clearest path forward. He has always done better work as a heel and has struggled to get over recently.
All it would take is Andrade attacking Knight after Saturday's Triple Threat match for the U.S. title, setting the stage for a full-scale rivalry between the two men.
This would also allow Hayes to capture gold and walk away from both rivals for a while.
It's a win-win-win situation for all involved. It's just a matter of where WWE sees all three men heading with the Road to WrestleMania on the horizon.
Face: Drew McIntyre
After a brutal Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood on Oct. 5, both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have taken time off to nurse their wounds and find a new focus.
The Scottish Warrior is in an especially interesting position as he has no clear path forward. He cannot go after Gunther or Bron Breakker as a heel challenger, and the roster options are limited for a long-term feud outside the title picture.
This could mean McIntyre will turn face in order to focus his attention on recapturing championship gold.
If the Scot was to cost The Ring General his match against Cody Rhodes, it would certainly benefit him and also deliver a crowd-pleasing moment.
McIntyre has done great work as a heel in the past year, and he has plenty more story to tell in the role with the right rival.
However, he might be better served on Raw reminding fans that he has never seen himself as the bad guy and leaning into a brutal style that is certain to pop the crowd when aimed at a top heel like Gunther.
