Bloodline members Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga shocked Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso at WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday, beating them in a six-man tag team match.
Competing in their first match as a unit in a couple of years, Reigns and The Usos were not on the same page at times, and The Bloodline took advantage with Sikoa pinning The OTC cleanly after multiple Samoan Spikes.
After the match, The Bloodline launched an attack on Reigns and The Usos, but Sami Zayn made a surprise appearance, coming to the aid of his former original Bloodline stablemates in Reigns, Jimmy and Jey.
Reigns and Zayn had a miscommunication, though, accidentally taking each other out when they attempted to attack Solo.
The Bloodline was once one of the most dominant factions in WWE history with Reigns leading The Usos and Sikoa, but the dynamic of the group changed significantly leading up to and coming out of WrestleMania 40.
Both Jey and Jimmy left The Bloodline last year, only for Jimmy to turn his back on his twin brother by helping Reigns beat him at SummerSlam. That led to Jimmy and Jey facing each other at WrestleMania, while Reigns dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes, ending his title run of over 1,300 days.
With Reigns out of the picture after The Show of Shows, Sikoa took control of The Bloodline by kicking out Jimmy and Paul Heyman, and bringing in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Fatu.
Reigns finally returned at SummerSlam in August, but rather than helping Sikoa beat Rhodes for the WWE Championship, he attacked him as payback for his hostile takeover of The Bloodline.
Roman dubbed himself the Original Tribal Chief or "OTC," and attempted to take The Bloodline back, but with no one to help him, he didn't stand a chance.
Reigns ended up forming an unlikely and reluctant partnership with Rhodes that led to a tag team match against Sikoa and Fatu. Reigns and Rhodes won thanks in large part to the returning Jimmy Uso helping them and reuniting with Reigns.
Still, Reigns and Jimmy knew they needed more firepower to combat The Bloodline, so they turned to Jey, but he initially had no interest in reconciling with The OTC.
Things changed when The Bloodline cost him the Intercontinental Championship against Bron Breakker, though, as Jey retaliated by costing the group the WWE Tag Team Championships against the Motor City Machine Guns.
Jey made up with Jimmy, and despite still being wary of Reigns and the way he treated him previously, he agreed to reform the original Bloodline in order to combat the new version of the stable at Crown Jewel.
Reigns, Jimmy and Jey were unsuccessful in the six-man tag, but the future of The Bloodline remains very much in question due to the two warring factions.
