The Chicago Bears reportedly could be among the top sellers in the NFL ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Bears are "open to moving" guard Nate Davis and "are also weighing trade options" for pass rusher Dominique Robinson.
The Bears would be taking an atypical approach by shipping away some of their players, as Fowler noted they "were adding at the trade deadline during the early stages of the Ryan Poles-Matt Eberflus regime, but they are now in a position to deal away extras" because they "have built up good depth at several positions."
Davis began the year as Chicago's starting right guard before being benched in Week 3. He was inactive for the team's Week 6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Fowler pointed out that trading Davis "would require Chicago to cover some of his $8.75 million salary, but my sense is the Bears are comfortable with that" because "the experiment hasn't gone well."
Robinson, a 2022 fifth-round pick who has played 28 combined games over the 2022 and 2023 seasons, has yet to see the field this year. Fowler noted that he "could use a fresh start elsewhere" and named the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders as teams that could be interested in him because they are "short-handed at pass rusher."
Fowler also identified veteran running back Khalil Herbert as "the odd man out of the rotation" in Chicago's backfield. With offensive tackle Larry Borom getting closer to returning from injured reserve, "I could see teams inquiring on Chicago's tackle depth," Fowler stated.
The Bears will be looking to improve to 5-2 when they return to action on Sunday against the Commanders.
