Seth Rollins defeated "Big" Bronson Reed in a grudge match at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Rollins withstood an early onslaught from Reed, including kicking out of a Tsunami, and finished the job by hitting his rival with a Super Stomp from the top rope.
Despite suffering a knee injury during a match against Jinder Mahal in January, Rollins pulled double duty at WrestleMania 40 in April, as he and Cody Rhodes lost a tag team match to The Rock and Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 1, and he then dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre on Night 2.
Rollins took some time off after The Show of Shows in order to heal up before making a surprise return on the June 17 episode of Raw.
The Visionary immediately entered into a program with Damian Priest, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and beat McIntyre for the world title at WrestleMania.
Rollins challenged The Archer of Infamy for the world title at Money in the Bank, but interference by McIntyre and CM Punk cost him.
Coming out of Money in the Bank, Rollins was involved in the rivalry between McIntyre and Punk, and he served as the special guest referee for their match at SummerSlam, which the Scot won.
The next night on Raw, Rollins was viciously attacked by Reed, who hit him with his Tsunami finisher off the top rope six times in a row, leaving The Visionary to spit up blood in the middle of the ring.
In the weeks leading up to the attack, Reed had been at odds with Raw general manager Adam Pearce due to his belief that he wasn't being given opportunities.
The Australian started to be featured far more regularly after taking out Rollins, and while The Visionary was on the mend, Reed entered into a feud with Braun Strowman, which culminated in a Last Monster Standing match on the Sept. 30 episode of Raw.
Rollins shocked the WWE Universe by making his return during the contest, hitting Reed with his signature Stomp to help Strowman win.
On the Oct. 21 Raw, Rollins and Reed had a confrontation and brawled with each other on multiple occasions, resulting in a match between them being made official for Crown Jewel.
Despite being at a severe size and strength advantage, Rollins prevailed in Saudi Arabia, getting revenge on Reed putting him on the shelf over the summer.
