The TGL, a 3v3 golfing league that will feature top PGA stars such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, will begin its 2025 season on Jan. 7 when Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler and the New York Golf Club face off against The Bay Golf Club.
The playoffs will be held in March, with the semifinals conducted on Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18, while the finals will be held on Monday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 25.
The TGL has six teams in total—the Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links GC, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club and The Bay Area Golf Club—that feature some of the top players on the PGA Tour facing off in a weekly format on ESPN and ESPN2.
The matches will take place at the SoFi Center on the Palm Beach State College campus, with drives on the fairway being shot into a "giant 64x53-foot simulator powered by Full Swing," and putts on the green taking place on an actual, indoor GreenZone that "includes a 41-yard-wide turntable that rotates the green to change approach angles and can morph its topography using nearly 600 actuators."
Matches will include 15 of the 30 total unique holes that have been created for the PGL.
Woods—one of the founders of the league alongside McIlroy—features on the Jupiter Links GC, though it is uncertain if he will be able to compete after undergoing back surgery in September.
If he's unable to play in Jupiter's season debut on Tuesday, Jan. 14 against Los Angeles Golf Club, Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner would comprise the team.
McIlroy will feature for Boston Common Golf alongside Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama, which opens its season on Monday, Jan. 27 against Jupiter Links.
Teams will play five games in total in the round–robin format during the regular season, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs.
