Four front-runners have emerged in the race for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

The New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns all sit at 1-6, while the Tennessee Titans are 1-5.

Other two-win teams may creep into the race for No. 1 pick at some point, but right now, we have a clear idea of which teams are the worst in the NFL.

Each of those four teams is experiencing different issues. New England has a rookie quarterback, Carolina's talent is just not good enough, Cleveland's offense seemed nonexistent with Deshaun Watson in charge, and Tennessee can't seem to get any good quarterback play.

Watson's injury could change the situation because the Browns may rally around Jameis Winston. Cleveland will also get better as Nick Chubb works his way back to 100 percent.

New England, Carolina and Tennessee might soon be in a three-horse race to pick first in 2025.

Patriots, Panthers, Titans Seem Like Top Contenders for No. 1 Pick

Wins look hard to come by for New England, Carolina and Tennessee for the rest of the season.

The only guarantee is that the Titans or Patriots will win their Week 9 clash in Nashville, and that result could go a long way in determining the order of the top three.

Carolina does not look anywhere close to beating any NFL team after its 40-7 loss to the Washington Commanders. The Panthers allowed four straight opponents to score over 30 points.

Tennessee's offense scored more than 20 points once in a Week 4 win over the injury-riddled Miami Dolphins.

New England has the most promise of the three teams because, in theory, it should improve as Drake Maye gets more time on the field.

However, the schedules are less than ideal for everyone. The Pats and Titans play three of their next five on the road, while Carolina visits the Denver Broncos and then plays the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants prior to its bye week.

Will Cleveland's Top-5 Status Change After Deshaun Watson Injury?

The Browns have the most potential to move out of the No. 1 pick conversation in the coming weeks.

The Cleveland offense looked more functional with Jameis Winston at the helm once Deshaun Watson went down with what appeared to be an Achilles injury.

Browns fans entered Sunday with hope because of Nick Chubb's return. He scored a touchdown, and even if Watson was healthy, would have provided a jolt to the offense.

Cleveland's offense might just work better with Winston in charge, and in turn, that could pull the Browns away from the top five in the NFL draft.

Home games with the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers will not be easy to navigate in the next two weeks before the Week 10 bye, but at least the Browns do not have to travel again until Week 11.

The post-bye schedule is not easy either, but no one would be surprised if the Browns pull off one or two upsets and gain separation from the Patriots, Panthers and Titans.
