Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco: Odds, Live Stream; KO, Judges' Scorecards Prediction

Alex Ballentine

Cris Cyborg is one of the most dominant fighters of all time, but on Saturday she'll be playing an unfamiliar role as an underdog to Larissa Pacheco in the co-main event of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants card.

The card is a landmark event for the Professional Fighters League as they make the foray into the major pay-per-view business. A heavyweight clash between Francis Ngannou and heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira headlines the card.

The co-main event features Cyborg making her PFL debut against the 2023 PFL Women's featherweight champion Larissa Pacheco.

PFL typcially follows a playoff format, but both featured bouts are happening outside of that format and will have the "superfight championship" on the line.

Here's a look at all the info you need to catch the fight along with a prediction and preview of the Cyborg-Pacheco showdown.

This is a great fight for PFL to put on because it might be the best matchup in Women's MMA right now regardless of promotion. The UFC's best bet for a new star in the women's divisions is Kayla Harrison.

Larissa Pacheco turned the tide in a bout against Harrison in a 2022 fight for the PFL lightweight title that year. The Brazilian earned a unanimous decision win after two losses to Harrison earlier in her career.

Now PFL gets an opportunity to put a talented champion against one of the biggest stars in the division.

Cyborg is not used to being an underdog, but it's the role she will play on Saturday. Pacheco is the small favorite on the strength of a 10-fight winnings streak that includes championship runs at both lightweight and featherweight.

So much of Cyborg's legacy comes from her ultra-aggressive striking and overwhelming power. However, that approach came back to bite her in her memorable loss to Amanda Nunes. She opened herself up to counters and The Lioness was good enough to take advantage.

Pacheco might not be as good as Nunes, but she's plenty dangerous in her own countering ability.

Cyborg's best path to victory probably lies in employing her wrestling. She can use her boxing to set up the takedowns, but getting Pacheco to the mat and dominating top position is her best bet.

Pacheco isn't bad on the ground either. She'll test Cyborg's focus and technique even if she's on the bottom.

Ultimately, this should be a back-and-forth fight in which both fighters have their moments.

We'll give the nod to the younger fighter who has been on a heater recently. Pacheco earns a close, unanimous decision and becomes a bigger star for PFL.
