Lakers' Bronny James Applauded By NBA Fans in 1st-Ever Preseason Start vs. Warriors

Paul Kasabian

Bronny James made his first preseason start for the Los Angeles Lakers in their road game against the Golden State Warriors on Friday evening and finished with 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting, four rebounds and three steals in 35 minutes.

The Lakers rested all five of their starters in LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell. They also sat some bench players who have rotation spots lined up in Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, Max Christie and rookie Dalton Knecht.

That gave players such as James a great opportunity to develop, see more court time and become more featured players on offense.

James certainly had his moments in this one, even if the Golden State Warriors rolled over L.A. on this evening, 132-74.

James had struggled shooting in the summer league and preseason going into this game, but he fared well offensively Friday with the bright lights shining on him. He hit his first three of the preseason, was more aggressive than usual and proved to be efficient as well.

Fans were impressed with his efforts, while some also noting how difficult it is for James to traverse through his rookie year with so many people watching.

The Lakers' preseason ends after Friday. Up next is the regular season, starting with the Minnesota Timberwolves rolling into L.A. on Tuesday.
