Video of AEW star MJF taking part in filming for the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore sequel hit social media this week.

X user ComiczThingz posted video that showed MJF walking down some stairs alongside Adam Sandler, who plays the titular Happy Gilmore character in Happy Gilmore 2:

It was first reported by Deadline's Justin Kroll last month that MJF would have an unspecified role in the comedy.

Fightful Select (h/t WrestlePurists) reported Thursday that MJF has a "significant role" in the movie and that he finished filming his part in late September.

However, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp later followed up with a report that MJF is still taking part in filming and has been doing so since the AEW All Out pay-per-view on Sept. 7.

The original Happy Gilmore movie, starring Sandler as a bumbling hockey player turned superstar golfer, was released in 1996, and it has long been regarded as one of the enduring comedies of the past few decades.

In addition to Sandler, Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen are also reprising their roles from the first film as Shooter McGavin and Virginia Venit.

Hollywood Reporter's Mia Galuppo reported last month that Happy Gilmore 2 has yet another pro wrestling link in addition to MJF as well, that being the involvement of musician Bad Bunny.

While Bad Bunny is best known for his music, he has made several appearances for WWE, including wrestling matches at WrestleMania 37 and Backlash 2023.

MJF is one of AEW's biggest and most accomplished stars, as his 406-day reign with the AEW World Championship was the longest in company history.

The 28-year-old was already starting to make some noise in the acting world before landing a role in Happy Gilmore 2, as he played Lance Von Erich in the 2023 Von Erich family biopic entitled Iron Claw.

Sapp reported Thursday that MJF already has another movie role lined up after Happy Gilmore 2, that being a film starring Justin Long and Ron Pearlman.
