WWE Rumors on Braun Strowman's Injury and Delta's NXT Debut; Penta Talks AEW Contract

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe and All Elite Wrestling.

Strowman Reportedly Suffered Groin Injury

Braun Strowman scored an impressive victory in a Last Man Standing match against Bronson Reed on Monday night's episode of Raw, but he reportedly came out of the contest worse for wear.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t WrestleTalk), Strowman suffered a groin injury during the match and may have torn it.

Alvarez pointed toward one point in the bout when Strowman appeared to grab his thigh or groin area after taking a Samoan Drop. Strowman was then supposed to run and knock Reed off the apron onto some chairs, but Braun looked as though he could barely walk.

Despite The Monster Among Men potentially suffering a serious injury that could keep him out for an extended period of time, he managed to finish the match, thus highlighting his toughness.

Things came to a head during the latter stages when Strowman and Reed completed a superplex that resulted in the ring breaking. Then, Seth Rollins made his return to WWE programming by stomping Reed's head onto the steel stairs, allowing Braun to score the pinfall victory.

Rollins was out for revenge since Reed hit him with multiple Tsunami splashes and put him on the shelf in August, and he made Reed pay this week.

Strowman was the beneficiary, but it now appears as though he may have to miss some time after already missing nearly a year from April 2023 to April 2024 due to a neck injury.

Delta to Reportedly Make NXT Debut This Month

After teasing her arrival with a vignette on Tuesday's episode of NXT, Delta is reportedly scheduled to make her WWE debut in the near future.

According to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, plans call for Delta to debut at the NXT Halloween Havoc premium live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 27.

Hailing from Australia, Delta made a name for herself in the country's independent wrestling scene over the past several years, holding major titles in Riot City Wrestling and Melbourne City Wrestling.

Delta is one of multiple major women's wrestling stars who have signed with WWE in recent months, joining Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer.

Giulia made her WWE debut at NXT No Mercy last month, and she challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship on Tuesday, losing due to interference from the returning Cora Jade.

Vaquer appeared on NXT programming for the first time last week on the big screen, as she suggested she would be going after the winner of Perez vs. Giulia.

Delta makes the already stacked NXT women's division even stronger, and adds more experience to what is a young group overall.

Penta Says He Is Still Under AEW Contract

Amid rumors that he and his brother, Rey Fenix, plan to head to WWE once their AEW contracts are up, Penta El Zero Miedo addressed where he currently stands contractually.

Appearing on Mas Lucha (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Penta divulged that he is still under contract with AEW, saying: "It's like I was saying, everyone defends their interests. [AEW president] Tony [Khan] is defending his interests and we are defending our own. I am still under contract with AEW, that is my present."

Penta also declined to comment on his future plans, saying: "My present in AEW, I'm still firm with them, and quite frankly, I don't know what will happen in the future."

The comments come on the heels of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer (h/t WrestlePurists) reporting that Khan added nearly one year of injury time missed onto Fenix's contract.

It was previously reported by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp that Penta and Fenix rebuffed AEW's attempts to re-sign them and there had been internal discussions within WWE about bringing them in.

That may still be the plan, but if Fenix is indeed getting locked into his AEW contract for close to a year, it will be quite some time before the Lucha Brothers are able to make an impact in WWE.

However, assuming Penta's AEW contract is up much sooner, he could potentially sign with WWE before Fenix and acclimate himself to the company until Fenix is able to join him.

Separately, Penta and Fenix have both been huge singles stars in Mexico and in the now-defunct Lucha Underground promotion, and together they are among the best tag teams in the world, having held the AEW World Tag Team Championships once.
