WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon Response Doc to Netflix Isn't Being Worked on by Kevin Dunn

Joseph Zucker

Former WWE official Kevin Dunn isn't working with his old boss to produce a response to Netflix's Mr. McMahon documentary series, according to PWInsider's Mike Johnson.

Johnson reported Sunday that rumors of Dunn and Vince McMahon collaborating are "absolutely incorrect." He added that Dunn "is not working on any McMahon-centric projects at all currently."

The Mr. McMahon docuseries has been a long time coming, and the circumstances surrounding its subject shifted dramatically in the years after the project was first announced in 2020.

McMahon resigned from TKO Group Holdings, WWE's parent company, in January after a former employee, Janel Grant, accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking. The 79-year-old had previously retired in 2022 after the Wall Street Journal documented financial settlements he made to resolve misconduct allegations. He returned to help oversee a billion-dollar merger with the UFC in 2023.

Mr. McMahon details the allegations made by Janel Grant and includes interviews with reporters who broke the story.

In general, the documentary didn't shy away from referencing other scandals that occurred during McMahon's decades in charge of WWE, either.

Ahead of Mr. McMahon's release, McMahon issued a statement and contended that "a lot has been misrepresented or left out entirely in an effort to leave viewers intentionally confused." He also argued the producers treated he and the "Mr. McMahon" character he portrayed on-screen as one and the same:

McMahon also reportedly tried to buy the documentary from Netflix so that it would never air in the first place.

If the former WWE chairman is in fact trying to offer his own reply to Mr. McMahon, it sounds like he won't be able to call upon the services of his longtime colleague.
