Gunther's Mount Rushmore; WWE Rumors on NXT Rebranding, Shotzi's New Gimmick

Gunther Lists His Personal Mount Rushmore

Gunther had some notable omissions when he listed off his WWE Mount Rushmore.

The world heavyweight champion told SunSport's Jack Figg he'd put Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle above the rest. The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and John Cena are some of the most frequently cited stars in this exercise, and all four missed the cut.

Earlier this month, Gunther said on Raw that Bill Goldberg is his "all-time favorite," but that remark was almost certainly made in jest given he was talking to Bret Hart at the time. There's no love lost between Goldberg and Hart, the former having hastened the latter's retirement from wrestling.

Gunther's Mount Rushmore makes sense for somebody who came of age during WWE's "Attitude Era" and on through its "Ruthless Aggression" phase, though.

Michaels, Triple H, Guerrero and Angle all competed and were top stars during those years. They were lauded as great in-ring workers as well. Nobody would question their status as legendary figures within the business.

WWE NXT Preparing Performance Center Set for CW Network Move

Fightful Select's Corey Brennan reported Saturday the set for WWE NXT was taken down following the most recent taping Tuesday night. This comes as the weekly program moves from USA Network to The CW Network.

The first CW broadcast will air Tuesday, but workers will have more time to switch out the set dressing at the WWE Performance Center. NXT will emanate from Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, this week and then St. Louis' Enterprise Center on Oct. 8.

It's unclear what the set change will entail.

In September 2021, WWE signaled a broad shift with its NXT 2.0 rebrand. Not only did the show have a much different aesthetic, but it leaned more into its roots as a developmental brand for in-house talent rather than one showcasing established indie stars.

The next NXT rebrand will probably be a little more subtle, akin to SmackDown getting a new coat of paint after it went back to USA Network from Fox.

Shotzi Working on Gimmick Change

Shotzi continues to recover from the torn ACL she suffered in February, and she has apparently spent her time away from the ring brainstorming a new image for herself

Former WWE wrestler Mideon said on Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) that he has outlined an "American Psycho thing" with the SmackDown performer.

"Although I've kind of went in an American Psycho thing, where she's kind of been sitting at home, and see the video of her, and there's two TVs, there's a TV in front of her, and she's watching the current women's stable wrestle, and there's a TV next to her with the ending of Texas Chainsaw [Massacre], where all you hear is chainsaws, so she goes kind of insane a little bit," he said.

"Then she's just obsessed with horror movies, which she already is, and then we kind of influence that, and we can even use certain famous tropes or scenes from horror movies as set-ups, like when the Wyatt Sicks dusted through Gorilla and left everybody down. You can do smaller versions of that with her. Tied to a chair made of human bones, have her opponent tied to a chair and have her reciting crazy poetry."

It sounds like the American Psycho inspiration won't see Shotzi dressing like a Wall Street investment banker or outlining her passion for Huey Lewis and the News.

Regardless, she's clearly looking to make a strong impression on WWE programming once she's cleared to compete again.
