Report: 5-Star PF Tounde Yessoufou Eyes ASU, Baylor over UConn, Kentucky, Kansas, USC

Arizona State and Baylor have emerged as the favorites for 5-star power forward Tounde Yessoufou, according to On3's Joe Tipton.

Kentucky, UConn, Kansas and USC also remain in the hunt.

Yessoufou is the No. 15 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2025 class and ranks fifth at his position.

Tipton reported that Yessoufou is "is nearing a commitment" and might have his mind made up before he's supposed to make scheduled visits with the Wildcats and Jayhawks.

The St. Joseph star has provided a detailed glimpse into his recruitment. On Saturday, he shared a video of his visit with the Bears.

Speaking on the appeal of Baylor, Yessoufou told On3's Jamie Shaw (via Tipton) he's drawn to both his potential playing time and usage on the floor.

"I like how they play freshmen. In the past, they have put three guards on the floor, and that is unique," he said. "And they have been winning a lot of games. How much they win is very impressive. I feel like I can fit in with how they play. They are always reaching out to me before and after my games to tell me to just keep going. I really like them."

On3's scouting report calls Yessoufou "a physically developed, explosively athletic wing prospect."

"Defensively, he guards multiple positions, able to move his feet on the perimeter or switch down to guard some on the block," the report read. "He has the quick-twitch to defend the ball and the anticipation and length as a team defender. Offensively, he has a solid pace and is at his best getting downhill in straight lines."

Neither Baylor nor Arizona State has a verbal commitment for 2025, so starting off with Yessoufou would be a major statement for either program.
