Titans HC on Will Levis' 'Dumb' TO, Viral Video: 'He's a Grownup and He Knows Better'

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan wasn't pleased with Will Levis' fumble in the second quarter of the team's 24-17 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.

"It was dumb," Callahan said, per Mike Sando of The Athletic. "It was the same exact thing he did last week, and he cost us points in the red zone, and that is what it is. He's a grownup and he knows better, and so I was really irritated that he cost us three points in a game that we probably needed it."

Callahan said on Monday that it was a "lesson learned," noting he needs to have better awareness that cameras may be on him:

The Titans had the ball at the Jets' six-yard line on Sunday with a 7-0 lead. On third down, Levis attempted to pitch the ball to running back Tyjae Spears while stumbling but ended up committing an ugly turnover.

Callahan was visibly upset with Levis' decision-making after the play.

The second-year quarterback finished 19-of-28 for 192 yards and a touchdown. Levis also threw an interception on the first play of the ensuing drive following the fumble.

He's struggled with turnovers throughout the Titans' first two games of the season, as he was picked off twice during the team's season-opening loss to the Chicago Bears.

Callahan was similarly frustrated after Week 1, as Tennessee allowed Chicago to come back from a 17-point deficit without scoring an offensive touchdown.

"It's almost as if we just punted it on first-and-10 every time, we might've won the game the way that we gave it away," he said on Sept. 9, via ESPN's Turron Davenport.

Callahan and Levis will attempt to get on the same page and help the offense minimize turnovers as the Titans attempt to avoid their first 0-3 start to the season since 2009.
