Updated 2025 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 2 Results

Joe Tansey

Nine teams left NFL Week 2 with an 0-2 record, but there's a clear front-runner among that group for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Carolina Panthers struggled once again to score points and have taken on the title of the early season's worst team.

Carolina is not the only team experiencing troubles to start the regular season, but it has the longest list of issues to get to a victory right now.

The AFC South makes up one-third of the 0-2 teams across the NFL. That division could be in for a long season and multiple high draft picks if the bad form on the gridiron continues.

Carolina's Struggle to Score Points Will Put It High in Draft Order

Carolina scored a league-low 13 points through two weeks.

The Panthers looked lifeless in their matchups with the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers under first-year head coach Dave Canales.

Wins are hard to come by already, and if you look at Carolina's schedule, the end may not be in sight for a while.

Bryce Young and Co. face a tough Las Vegas Raiders defense in Week 3 and then play the Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons.

The Week 5 clash with the Bears may be Carolina's best chance to win a game in the first half of the regular season.

By then, the Panthers should be the distinct favorite to pick No. 1 overall. At least in 2025 the Panthers have their own first-round selection, unlike 2024, when it went to the Bears.

AFC South in Early Season Trouble

The Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans find themselves in tough spots after Week 2.

Indianapolis probably has the biggest concerns after Sunday because it failed to beat the Green Bay Packers without Jordan Love.

The Colts' rushing defense has been nonexistent against Green Bay and the Houston Texans, and unless that gets better it is hard to see them thriving in 2025.

Jacksonville only mustered 30 points so far this season and it has to visit Buffalo in Week 3. To make matters worse, the Bills essentially are coming off a bye after playing on Thursday night.

Will Levis made some questionable decisions on Tennessee's path to 0-2, and although the upcoming games against Green Bay and Miami look easier because of quarterback injuries, there's no guarantee the Titans will use that to their advantage.

There's still plenty of time for the AFC South trio to turn things around, but the early returns suggest high draft picks are possible for all three.
