After setting the WNBA single-season scoring record earlier this week, Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson added another unique distinction on Sunday.
Wilson became the first player in league history to ever score 1,000 points in a season during Sunday's 84-71 win against the Connecticut Sun:
Wilson finished with 29 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in the victory. She reached the 1,000-point mark with a fadeaway jumper in the fourth quarter:
After falling short of WNBA MVP in 2023, Wilson appears poised to add a third trophy to her mantle. She's helped lead the reigning WNBA champions to a 25-13 record as the playoffs quickly approach.
Wilson will have two more chances to add to her record, as the Aces will return to action on Tuesday against the Seattle Storm before closing out the regular season on Thursday against the Dallas Wings.
