Video: Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase Flagged for Yelling at Ref; WR Slams Helmet on Sideline

Andrew Peters

Ja'Marr Chase lost his cool in a crucial moment as the Cincinnati Bengals faced the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The star wide receiver picked up a flag after berating an official for not calling a flag after he was brought down to the ground hard. That flag subsequently pushed the Bengals 15 yards back and made getting points more difficult and Cincinnati had to settle for a field goal a few plays later.

Chase then threw his helmet on the ground as head coach Zac Taylor tried to calm him down.

It was a frustrating day for Chase, and the no-call and flag only added to his frustration. Chase had just four receptions for 35 yards a week after recording just six receptions for 62 yards in a loss to the New England Patriots.

Those shaky performances to start the season won't help him as he looks to become one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL, which could have led to his on-field frustrations on Sunday.

Chase isn't the only member of the Bengals having a frustrating start to the season, the team as a whole has struggled.

Cincinnati was upset in Week 1 by the New England Patriots. The Bengals then dropped their Week 2 game to the Chiefs in heart-breaking fashion as Harrison Butker drilled a walk-off field goal.
