Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson expects to play in Week 3 after suffering a quad injury during Sunday's 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

"I'm not seriously injured," Jefferson said after the game, per ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "So that's the main important thing. So it's just all about getting to the training room, making sure my body is right for next week, and I'll be ready to go next Sunday."

Head coach Kevin O'Connell said after the game, via NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, that Jefferson would be day-to-day.

Jefferson exited Sunday's contest early in the fourth quarter and did not return.

Jefferson had a decent start to the season, collecting 59 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the New York Giants, but he really came to life in Week 2 as he picked up 133 receiving yards and a touchdown as the Vikings upset the 49ers.

That kind of performance is what Minnesota expects from Jefferson every week, and the Vikings can only hope the injury won't sideline him for an extended period.

Jefferson played just 10 games last year, recording 1,074 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He suffered a hamstring injury in October that forced him to miss a handful of games.

In his last full season in 2022, he had the best year of his career with 1,809 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. That kind of season led the Vikings to give him a historic four-year, $140 million contract this offseason.

Fortunately for Minnesota, it appears as though the star receiver will be able to play next week.
