Colorado star Travis Hunter thought his team had "no response" to Nebraska's start in the Buffaloes' 28-10 defeat.

"They came out fast. They hit us in the mouth," he said to open The Travis Hunter Show. "We didn't have no response. That's pretty much what happened. We didn't have no response all night. We gotta get back to the drawing board."

Hunter added the performance was "not Colorado football."

All of the Cornhuskers' points came in the first half as they blitzed the Buffs early on. They scored on their opening drive and a pick-six for defensive back Tommi Hill a few possessions later swung the momentum in a big way.

The second half was far less eventful as Nebraska took its foot off the gas. Colorado got 10 points on the board but never looked like mounting a serious comeback.

Head coach Deion Sanders tried to accentuate the positive when he told reporters he was "really pleased with the way they played in the second half."

"It seems like we're a team of the second half, we just got to get it going earlier," he said.

Rivalry games can always be unpredictable, but Colorado should be iron out some of its flaws against a Colorado State squad that was shut out 52-0 by Texas in its opener.

The rest of the Buffs' schedule features some difficult matchups, though, most notably No. 14 Kansas State, No. 12 Utah and No. 13 Oklahoma State. All three of those opponents are likely to get after Colorado early, so it will need to be much more resilient than it was in Lincoln, Nebraska.
