Garrett Wilson Trolls Michigan, Calls Wolverines 'Ass' amid Big Deficit vs. Texas

Joseph Zucker

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson had a one-word assessment of Michigan after the first half of the Wolverines' game against Texas on Saturday.

The former Ohio State star called his old rival "ass" after it fell behind 24-3 through two quarters:

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson also chimed in with his thoughts about his alma mater and how much it was dominating:

Wilson is obviously a bit partisan when it comes to any Michigan-related matters, but he pretty much summed up the Wolverines' start.

They only had 88 yards of offense in the first half against Texas and allowed the Longhorns to score on four of their first five drives. The exception was when Bert Auburn missed a 43-yard field goal.

The absence of a passing game is particularly concerning for Michigan.

Rather than turning to the transfer portal to replace outgoing quarterback J.J. McCarthy, first-year head coach Sherrone Moore leaned on continuity with Davis Warren and Alex Orji. The early returns on Warren aren't encouraging, and Moore seems to be signaling he trusts Orji even less based on his usage on Saturday.

Many expected Michigan to take a step backward after losing head coach Jim Harbaugh and a number of key players to the NFL. The team still opened at No. 9 in the preseason AP Top 25 and was eighth in the Coaches Poll, so expectations remained reasonably high.

It's time to recalibrate those forecasts.
