Video: MLB Broadcaster Dallas Braden Used Sabrina Carpenter Lyrics On-Air After Dare

Former Oakland Athletics pitcher and current A's television commentator Dallas Braden quoted Sabrina Carpenter lyrics on air in order to fulfill a dare by his wife, Meg Braden.

"I tell you, heartbreak is one thing, my ego's another," Braden said while calling a game against the Seattle Mariners in a reference to Carpenter's song "Please, Please, Please."

Braden's broadcast partner, Chris Caray, then chimed in with another reference to the song: "So the A's are saying, please don't embarrass me."

This is not the first time Meg Braden has successfully dared her husband to sneak in a quote while calling a game.

On Thursday she shared a video on Instagram in which she challenged him to quote a viral TikTok. Braden fulfilled the dare by saying on the broadcast that the A's had a "very demure, mindful approach" to the game.

Braden, who was drafted by the Athletics out of Texas Tech in 2004, made 94 appearances and 79 starts for the franchise over five seasons between 2007 and 2011. He pitched the MLB's 19th perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010.

He joined ESPN as an analyst after retiring, then left to work with NBC Sports California in 2017.
