Players will be able to control the ice like never before in EA Sports' NHL 25.

EA Sports released a deep-dive trailer on Thursday which goes into details regarding the new ICE-Q gameplay intelligence system. As EA Sports explained, improvements in next-gen vision control, empowered AI and reactive actions will give the game an entirely new and more realistic feel.

The vision control will lead to more responsiveness and explosiveness on the ice as offensive players with the puck will skate with the net as the target while defensive players can always face the puck to be in better position.

As for the empowered AI, computer skaters should have a better awareness of proper positioning on the ice, which will give the game a more fluid feel.

And the reactive actions such as collision avoidance, panic turns after a defender is beaten and offensive players lowering their stick into passing lanes when they are open will provide even greater control and a more authentic feel.

Other developments in the game include skill-based one-timers that rely on timing, a shooter's overall ability and the speed of the pass. Throw in improvements in goalie motions, the overall hitting system and the pressure system that rewards teams that activate pressure with more stamina, and there is no shortage of new features tied back to the ICE-Q system.

NHL 25 will be something of a family affair, as brothers Quinn, Jack and Luke Hughes are the first siblings to be featured together on an EA Sports cover.

Jack and Luke are on the New Jersey Devils, while Quinn is on the Vancouver Canucks.

EA Sports NHL 25 will be available on Oct. 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
