Dwight Howard, Danny Amendola and Ilona Maher are the athletes joining Olympic bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik in the cast for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

ABC announced the 13 celebrities who will compete for glory on the dance floor on Wednesday's episode of Good Morning America.

Nedoroscik was announced as the first contestant on this season following his breakout performance at the Olympics. The gymnast who came to be known as "Pommel Horse Guy" won an individual bronze and helped the U.S. men's team win bronze for its first medal since 2008.

Howard is going to try his hand at dancing as he continues to play professional basketball. The 38-year-old most recently played for the Taiwan Mustangs in the Asian Tournament earlier this summer.

An eight-time NBA All-Star, Howard won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2019-20 season. He spent the majority of his career with the Orlando Magic, but also had stints with the Lakers, Houston Rockets, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards.

Amendola played 13 seasons in the NFL from 2009 to '21. He is best remembered for his five-season stint with the New England Patriots in which he helped the team win two titles in three Super Bowl appearances.

Maher was a member of the U.S. rugby team since 2018. She helped the Americans win their first-ever Olympic medal in Paris with a thrilling 14-12 victory over Australia in the bronze medal match that saw Alex Sedrick run the length of the field to score as time expired.

The U.S. women's rugby team had never placed higher than fifth at the Olympics prior to the Paris Games.

Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars will premiere on Sept. 17 with new episodes airing simultaneously on ABC and Disney+.
