Adidas is dropping a new colorway of Anthony Edwards' AE 1 signature kick that will honor the alma mater of the Minnesota Timberwolves star.

The "Pure Ruby," which has a black-and-red design to match the colors of the Georgia Bulldogs, will hit stores on Saturday.

Edwards spent one season in Athens and averaged 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds en route to being an All-SEC honoree and the SEC Rookie of the Year. His brief time with Georgia has taken on a greater status thanks to his rise in the NBA ranks.

The 23-year-old is a two-time All-Star and made his first All-NBA team in 2023-24 after putting up 25.9 points, 5.4 boards and 5.1 assists per contest. He's poised to be one of the stars leading the Association into the next generation once LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have moved on.

Edwards' exploits with the national team have burnished his reputation as well. He avoided getting too much scorn from Team USA's fourth-place finish in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup because he was the United States' standout performer. Then he helped the U.S. win a gold medal in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Adidas first unveiled the AE 1 in September 2023, so the AE 2 might be arriving before too long. Sole Retriever's Nicholas Vlahos reported the second installment of Edwards' signature line was pushed back into 2025 because the first has been so commercially successful.
