Andrew Peters

Scottie Scheffler ended an outstanding season with a win at the 2024 TOUR Championship on Sunday.

Scheffler, who started the event with at 10-under because he led the FedEx Cup standings coming into the weekend, finished at 30-under, edging out second-place finisher Collin Morikawa, who recorded a 26-under.

Morikawa started the tournament at four-under, so it was still a commendable effort to be in the mix with Scheffler in the final round.

Scheffler struggled a bit early on as he carded three bogeys on the front nine, but he managed to pick up five birdies and a notched an eagle on the 14th hole to ensure the victory.

After Sunday's performance, fans applauded Scheffler for winning the TOUR Championship and the FedEx Cup to cap off a historic season.

With Sunday's win, Scheffler picked up his seventh of the year, the most in a season since Tiger Woods won seven in 2007. It also gave Scheffler the first FedEx Cup title of his career.

Among his seven victories this season include his second Master's Tournament win and his first Olympic gold medal.

It's fair to say Scheffler put together one of the most dominant seasons in recent history, as no other golfer won two events this year.

Scheffler also broke his own record for purse money in a single season, racking up $29,228,357 throughout the year. That number will get even bigger with the $25 million he'll earn for winning the FedEx Cup title.
