Quinn Ewers, Arch Manning Dazzle CFB Fans as No. 4 Texas Blows Out Colorado State

Paul Kasabian

Texas quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning combined for 355 passing yards and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) en route to a season-opening 52-0 home win over Colorado State on Saturday.

Ewers completed 20-of-27 passes for 260 yards, three touchdowns (one interception). Manning connected on 5-of-6 passes for 95 yards and one touchdown while adding a one-yard score on the ground.

Ewers found Matthew Golden (twice) and Isaiah Bond for scores. The second Golden touchdown was a no-look pass to help put Texas up 31-0 at halftime.

After Texas went up 38-0 following a Jerrick Gibson run, it was Manning's time to shine. His first pass was a 40-yard completion to Johntay Cook II. Three plays later, Manning kept a play alive with his feet and tossed a five-yard score to Silas Bolden. After the PAT, Texas led 45-0.

Manning then marched the Longhorns down the field on an 11-play, 55-yard drive capped by a one-yard quarterback sneak for a score.

Needless to say, fans were impressed while watching Ewers and Manning cook.

A tough test now awaits Texas as the Longhorns head to Ann Arbor to face No. 9 Michigan, the defending national champion.
