Jannik Sinner was absolutely dominant in Saturday's win over Christopher O'Connell.

The top seed won the first set 6-1 in just 30 minutes, taking just an hour and 56 minutes to secure a straight-set victory.

Sinner won 82% of points on first serve, hitting an impressive 46 winners to just 22 unforced errors in three sets.

While the Italian had a slow start in his first two matches, he was sharp early against O'Connell, breaking the Australian's first two service games.

With Djokovic and Alcaraz eliminated from contention, Sinner has emerged as the favorite to win the U.S. Open, and, Saturday, he showed just why.

Tommy Paul Survives Upset Scare

Tommy Paul is moving on to the fourth round of the U.S. Open for the second consecutive year.

After dropping the first set to Canadian world No. 174 Gabriel Diallo, Paul responded in dominant fashion by winning the next three sets, including a fourth set where he faced a 0-3 deficit.

Diallo, who was making his main-draw debut at the U.S. Open, struggled to maintain consistency, especially after grabbing the first-set tiebreaker.

Down the stretch, the 22-year-old committed pivotal mistakes, including a fourth set where he sprayed 20 unforced errors.

The Canadian also had two break-point opportunities deep in the fourth set that would have given him a 6-5 lead and a chance to serve for the set, though he was unable to capitalize on either one.

On Monday, Paul will face the toughest task yet, facing No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner, who on Saturday dominated Christopher O'Connell in straight sets.

For the second straight match, Iga Swiatek dominated, defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets.

In her opening-round match, Swiatek lost two service games and committed 41 unforced errors.

Jessice Pegula advanced to the fourth round of the U.S. Open for the third consecutive year after defeating world No. 74 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

The sixth-seed was especially impressive from her first serve, where she won 25 of 28 points.

In her three U.S. Open matches, the American has yet to drop a set.
